• Paper

Check Item
Ink mist, etc., on the paper guide
plate on the platen.
Ink has adhered to the paper feed
section. (The paper is already
contaminated by the time it
reaches the platen.)
The spur tips are deformed.
The paper selector lever is not set
in the appropriate position.
Check for misalignment in the
nozzle check pattern print.
Grease application on the guide
shaft.
Carriage motor status

Part 4: Troubleshooting
Measures
Clean with a soft moist cloth.
Disassemble and clean the paper
feed section with a soft moist
cloth.
Pass a few sheets.
Replace the spur unit.
Set the lever to the specified
position.
Readjust the print position.
Apply the appropriate amount in
the specified place.
Replace the carriage motor.
