A USB serial number will be assigned, in conformance with USB standards, so that
each printer can be identified when multiple printers are connected to a host
computer via USB interface.
A unique value is recorded in the EEPROM when the control board is manufactured.
The USB serial number recorded in the EEPROM will not be cleared even when the
EEPROM is reset. Also, it cannot be overwritten with any value.
