Making and Answering Data Calls
Making Direct Analog Data Calls
You can call the following endpoints directly from your analog
data station without using the modem pool:
inside analog data stations which include
— a local host computer connected via a modem
— workstations on a local area network (LAN)
outside analog data stations
For illustrations and general descriptions of analog data
station connections, see Chapter 1.
To Call Inside Analog Stations
Before beginning a data call:
Put your modem in the command state using the
instructions provided with your modem and
communications software.
If using a General Purpose Adapter, verify that the
adapter is in Basic Mode.
Have an Auto Answer All button programmed to
indicate to the switch that the GPA is present. The
button need not be toggled on to place a call.
Make sure that you have the extension number of the analog
data station you are calling.
