I nsert the cartridge in the holder, and press it down until
it clicks.

L ower the scanner unit.

P ress OK to prime the ink delivery system. This takes
about 5 minutes.
N ote: The cartridge included with the printer is designed for
printer set up and not for resale. After some ink is used for
priming, the rest is available for printing only in the same printer.
C aution: Don't turn off the printer while it is priming or you'll
waste ink.

Load paper

F lip the feeder guard forward.

R aise the paper support, pull out the output tray, then
raise the paper stopper.

S lide the edge guide to the left.

L oad paper against the right edge guide and behind the
tab line on the left edge guide, with the printable side
faceup.
C aution: Don't load the paper sideways; always load it short
edge first.

S lide the edge guide against the left edge of the paper,
but not too tightly.

Flip the feeder guard back.

Connect the fax line
To fax, connect a phone cord to a telephone wall jack and
to the LINE port on the back of your product. To connect a
telephone or answering machine, use the EXT. port on your
product. See the Quick Guide for more details.
Note: If you have a DSL or ISDN connection, you must connect
the appropriate DSL filter, or ISDN terminal adapter or router to the
wall jack to be able to use the line for faxing or voice calls using
your product. Contact your DSL or ISDN provider for the necessary
equipment.
