Printhead failure

Any of these problems can cause the Printhead Failure
message to appear:

To begin troubleshooting the problem:

The print cartridge carrier contacts are dirty
The print nozzles on the print cartridge are dirty
There is a problem with the Color, Black, or Photo
print cartridge
Clean the print cartridge carrier contacts and wipe
the print cartridge print nozzles of both print
cartridges.
For help, see "Cleaning print cartridge carrier
contacts" on page 32 and "Wiping the print
nozzles and contacts" on page 30.
Reinstall both print cartridges in the printer.
Print a test page.

the Status Tab.
