    Attention: If User only mode is selected and the user HDP has been forgotten and cannot be made available to the service technician, neither Lenovo nor Lenovo authorized service technicians provide any services to reset the user HDPs or to recover data from the hard disk drive.     If you replace the system board, you must restore the serial number of the system unit to its original value. Before replacing the system board, save the original serial number by doing the following: 1.     When you replace the system board, you must set the UUID on the new system board as follows: 1.     If the computer you are servicing has the SIM card, remove it before you start the servicing. To remove the SIM card, you need to remove following FRUs: • “1010 Battery pack” on page 54 • “1020 Bottom door” on page 56 After you finish the servicing, make sure that you insert the card back into the slot firmly.
  • Page 61 The only exception to this is if the battery pack is physically damaged or a customer is reporting a possible safety issue. If ThinkVantage Toolbox is not installed in the computer, the customer should download this program before a non-physically damaged battery pack is replaced.
