Please read this handbook in conjunction with the online manual. As the required setup and configurations for the printer may differ depending upon the environment in use in your computer, please read those sections related to your specific computer environment and perform the appropriate setup and configuration explained there.

Installing the Printer Driver (2) Installing the Printer Driver Install the printer driver as follows: * The printer can be connected to the computer by one of the following two methods: local or network. If you want to connect them through network, refer to the opera- tion manual of the operating system (OS).

Select the driver type. From the list, select the type of driver to be installed, then click Next. Select the connection type: Local or Network.

Operation (2) Canceling printing Carry out the following procedure to cancel a print job that has already been initiated. * Printing can be canceled as long as data is still being sent to the printer (i.e. the data indicator is blinking). However, depending upon the timing, a portion of the data may still be printed.

    6. Printer Configuration 3 Form Feed Time Out It is possible to set the maximum amount of time that the printer will wait to receive data from the computer. If the printer does not receive any data from the computer within the amount of time specified here, printing will be canceled.

    6. Printer Configuration If KPDL (AUTO) is selected at step 1, the Alternate Emulation option will appear. This allows you to select an alternate emulation mode in cases when no print can be made in KPDL mode. After changing the printer setting, press [End] button the recover the printer to online status, then turn OFF/ON the main switch.

Generally, EMF(metafile) format frees up your program faster because it is smaller and doesn’t depend on what kind of printing device you have. RAW format is specific to the printing device, so extra time may be required to convert the printing information, and your program would not be available for working on other tasks.
