Using the cassette

Playing a cassette tape

Press TAPE (TAPE) button to TAPE.

Press the area marked [push open] to open the
cassette tape door.

Insert cassette tape into the compartment with
the open edge facing down.

Close the door securely.

Press SEARCH/TUNING 4 or ¢ (4 or ¢
search +/–) button to move tape to the desired
starting point.

Press PLAY/PAUSE 6 (6) button to begin
playing the tape.

Recording on a cassette tape

You can record from a radio, a disc, or an USB device.
For the best recording, use a normal bias tape (Type
1 only).
Recording from a radio

Insert a cassette tape into the tape
compartment and close the door.

Press TUNER BAND (TUNER band) button to
TUNER and select a radio station.

Press REC (rec) button to set the unit into
recording standby mode.
The icon "REC. " appears on the display.

Press PLAY/PAUSE 6 (6) button to begin
recording.
• To end recording, press STOP 7 (7) button.
Radio recording tip
To temporarily pause the recording, press REC (rec)
button. Press PLAY/PAUSE 6 (6) button to
resume recording.
Recording from a CD/MP3-CD/WMA-CD/USB
device

Insert a blank cassette tape into the tape deck.

Press the desired source button to select the
source you wish to record from.
For CD/MP3-CD/WMA-CD : Press CD (CD/USB)
button to select CD input.
For USB device : Press USB (CD/USB) button to
select USB input.

Insert a disc or an USB device and make sure
that the unit is in stop mode.

Press SEARCH/TUNING 4 or ¢ (4 or ¢
search +/–) button to select the fi rst track/fi le
you want to record.

Press REC (rec) button to set the unit into
recording standby mode.
The icon "REC. " appears on the display.

Press PLAY/PAUSE 6 (6) button to begin
recording.
The icon "SYNC" appears on the display.
• To ensure good system performance, wait until the unit
completely reads the disc/USB device before recording.
• To interrupt recording, press REC (rec) button. Press PLAY/
PAUSE 6 (6) button to resume recording.
• To end recording, press STOP 7 (7) button.
• For a CD/MP3-CD/WMA-CD : If you perform step 5 and 6
during playback, the recording will start from the beginning
of the current track/fi le.
• During recording, it is not possible to listen to another source.
