Adding, moving or removing devices attached to the switch fabric. This includes powering up or
powering down attached devices.
Adding, moving or removing ISLs or other connections.
CAUTION:
Changes to the fabric may disrupt the NDCLA process.
After an NDCLA operation is complete, the following management connections must be re-initiated:
QuickTools sessions, which will re-connect automatically
Telnet sessions, which must be restarted manually.
Applicable Code Versions:
Future switch code releases will be upgraded non-disruptively unless specifically indicated in the
associated release notes
An NDCLA operation to previous switch code releases is not supported.

To reset a switch using QuickTools:
1.
Select the switch to be reset from the fabric tree.
2.
Select Switch > Reset Switch, and then choose one of the following options:
• Select Hot Reset to perform a hot reset.
• Select Reset to perform a standard reset.
• Select Hard Reset to perform a hard reset.

Configuring a switch

Switch configuration is divided into three areas: chassis configuration, network configuration, and SNMP
configuration.
Chassis configuration specifies switch-wide Fibre Channel settings.
Network configuration specifies IP and DNS settings.
SNMP configuration specifies SNMP settings, SNMP traps, and SNMP security.

Using the configuration wizard

Use the configuration wizard to configure the IP address and password for new or replacement switches.
To start the configuration wizard, select Wizards > Configuration Wizard.
Description
Resets a switch without a Power On Self Test. This reset
activates the pending firmware, but does not disrupt switch
traffic. If errors are detected on a port during a hot reset, the
port is reset automatically.
