Two of the three phones shows home line busy. What is the problem

Two of the three AT&T CL82309 phones could show the home line busy if:

1. Another handset is already in use on a call.
2. Two handsets are already in use on an intercom or conference call, preventing a third from joining.
3. There is a failed intercom or conference call attempt.
4. The line is in use by another device or phone connected to the same line.
5. The handsets are out of range or not properly connected to the telephone base.

These conditions can make it appear that the home line is busy.

The time is getting reset 4 hours ahead automatically. I set it correctly and then it changes to the wrong time (4 hours into the future). Is is a time zone issue? What can be done? Model = CL82409 SN HY400102533 AT&T cordless phone.

The time on the AT&T CL82409 cordless phone may reset to 4 hours ahead due to an incorrect time zone setting. The phone sets time automatically with each incoming call using caller ID, and if the time zone is not set correctly, the displayed time will be inaccurate.

To fix this:
1. When the handset is in idle mode, press MENU/SELECT.
2. Scroll to “Set Date/Time” using the CID or DIR keys, then press MENU/SELECT.
3. Adjust the date and time manually, or ensure the correct time zone is selected if that option appears.
4. Confirm each entry with MENU/SELECT.

Also, ensure the year is correctly set for day-of-week calculations.

The AT&T DECT 6.0 CL82309 may not be charging due to one or more of the following reasons:

1. The battery was not installed or charged before use.
2. The power adapter is not plugged into an electrical outlet or is plugged into one controlled by a wall switch.
3. A non-original power adapter is being used.
4. The telephone base is placed near sources of heat, noise, dust, moisture, or vibration, which can affect charging.
5. The protective sticker covering the handset or base display was not removed.

Check these conditions to ensure proper charging.

We are unable to receive a call. The message is that the receiver is busy. The accept call indication (with three bars) is on with one receiver but the second receiver seems to have only one bar showing. Neither receiver will accept calls.

Possible issues preventing the AT&T CL82309 DECT 6.0 phones from receiving calls include:

1. The ringer may be turned off.
2. The telephone line cord or power cord may not be securely plugged in.
3. The handset may be too far from the telephone base.
4. The handset battery may need charging (charge for at least 16 hours).
5. There may be too many extension phones on the same line.
6. The layout of the home or office may limit the operating range—try relocating the base.
7. There may be a problem with the telephone line—test with another phone or contact the telephone company.
