Explanation
The printer is out of toner.
The printer is almost out of
toner.
It is time to replace the waste
toner box.
The indicated print cartridge
is not set correctly, or not set.
The error message appears
even though the print car-
tridge is set correctly.
The indicated paper input
tray # (1 or 2) is not installed
correctly, or not installed.
There is no waste toner bot-
tle, or the waste toner bottle
is not installed correctly.
There is a problem with the
printer's controller.
Color registration failed.
Recommended Action
Replace the print cartridge.

Prepare a new print cartridge.
Replace the waste toner box
with a new one.
See p.76 "Replacing the
Waste Toner Bottle".
Set the indicated print car-
tridge correctly.
Using a dry cloth, carefully
wipe the interface area on the
print cartridge surface.
Install the indicated paper
input tray correctly.
Set the waste toner bottle cor-
rectly.
Turn off the main power, and
then turn it on again.
Call service people to repair
it. If the error occurs again,
contact your sales or service
representative.
Clean the toner density sen-
sor.
