nsslapd-localhost (Local Host)

This read-only attribute specifies the host machine on which the Directory Server
runs.
Entry DN:
cn=config
Valid Values:
Any fully qualified hostname.
Default Value:
Hostname of installed machine.
Syntax:
DirectoryString
Example:
nsslapd-localhost:phonebook.example.com

nsslapd-localuser (Local User)

Applicable to Directory Server installations on Unix machines.
Specifies the user that the Directory Server runs as. The group that the user runs as
is derived from this attribute by examining the groups of which the user is a
member. Should the user change, then all the files in the installation directory will
need to be owned by this user.
Entry DN:
cn=config
Valid Values:
Any valid user on the local UNIX machine.
Default Value:
To run as the same user who started the Directory Server.
Syntax:
DirectoryString
Example:
nsslapd-localuser: nobody

nsslapd-maxbersize (Maximum Message Size)

Defines the maximum size in bytes allowed for an incoming message. This limits
the size of LDAP requests that can be handled by the Directory Server. Limiting the
size of requests prevents some kinds of denial of service attacks.
