Plug the connector into the back of the system labelled AC- (Ref.18) and the power supply into the mains.
Ensure the antenna (Ref.13) is extended as far as possible so that you can rotate it which will enable you to get the best signal you can.
Switch the button on the rear of the unit to "On" (Ref.17). Once the screen switches on, the analog Clock should display. Press the 'Power/ Standby' button on the unit (Ref.5) or on the remote (Rem.1). The unit will start up in Digital Radio mode or the previous mode you were using.
When DAB Radio is activated for the first time, select "Full Scan" by scrolling through the options, then press down the Navigate/OK dial on the unit (Ref.12) or the 'Enter/Play' button (Rem.26) on the remote. The unit will then scan and store all available stations.
To scroll through the stations use the 'Previous' (Rem.10) and 'Next' buttons (Rem.25) on the remote or the unit (Ref. 8/9).
To change the mode, press the 'Mode' button (Ref.5) on the unit to switch between the options or press the Mode buttons directly on the remote (Ref.2/3/18/19/20).
To put the music system on standby, press and hold the 'Power/Standby' button on the unit (Ref.5) or press the 'Power/Standby' button (Rem.1) on the remote.
To turn off fully, switch it off at the back of the unit and from the mains. The cord must be out of reach of children.
The default display language is English. You can change to French (Francais), German (Deutsch), English, or Italian (Italiano) by pressing the Menu button on the remote (Rem.8) and navigating to 'System Settings', then 'Language'.
Press the 'Next' button (Rem.25) repeatedly to scroll through to "System Settings" and confirm choice by pressing the 'Play/Pause' button (Rem.26). After that, scroll through to the option for "Language" and select it. Once language settings open, scroll between "Français", "Deutsch", "English" and "Italiano" then press 'OK' on either the remote or the unit to confirm language selection.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.13).
Press the 'Mode' button (Ref.5) multiple times on the unit to switch to DAB/DAB+ Radio. To select the mode from the remote, press the 'FM/ DAB' button (Rem.19).
On first use when DAB Radio is activated for the first time, a Full Station Scan must be completed. Press the 'Menu' button (Rem.8/Ref.6). Then, use the 'Enter/Play' button (Rem.26) on the remote or press down the Navigate/OK dial on the unit (Ref.12) to select 'Full Scan'.
This will start a scan up the frequency band and store all stations that have a good signal. After searching has finished it will automatically play the first station stored.
To listen to all stations that have been stored use the 'Next' (Rem.25) and 'Previous' buttons (Rem.10) to scroll through them.
When you turn on the radio again after it switching off, it will automatically tune to the same station (DAB or FM) that was last selected. In DAB/DAB+ mode, the radio will synchronize with the time and date of the station.
When on DAB/DAB+ mode, press the 'Menu' button (Rem.8) on the remote to open DAB radio settings. Once pressed, the following options will be available to scroll through with the Previous and Next buttons on the remote (Rem.10/25) and can then be selected to open further setting options:
Select this option to initiate a scan for available DAB/DAB+ stations. Once selected, the screen will display "Scanning..." as it scans for stations with good signal. Once the scan is complete, the first available station will begin to play.
As well as an auto tune function, you can manually tune the radio to scroll through stations by multiplex and frequency.
Once "Manual Tune" is selected, use the 'Previous' (Rem.10) and Next (Rem.25) buttons on the remote to cycle through the DAB+ channels, which are from 5A to 13F.
Once on your chosen station, press down the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.12) or press the Enter/Play button on the remote (Rem.26).
This function enables you to reduce the difference between the maximum and minimum audio volume being broadcast. This makes quiet sounds comparatively louder, and loud sounds comparatively quieter. DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster for a specific station.
Once the "DRC" option is selected, use the 'Previous' (Rem.10) and Next (Rem.25) buttons on the remote to scroll through the following DRC options: DRC off, DRC high and DRC low.
Once on your chosen preference, press down the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.12) or press the Enter/Play button on the remote (Rem.26) to confirm choice.
To remove stations that are listed but are unavailable on DAB, you can turn on the 'Prune Invalid' setting.
Once the 'Prune Invalid' option is selected, the screen will display "Proceed to prune the invalid stations?" followed by Yes or No. To select prune, use the 'Previous' (Rem.10) and Next (Rem.25) buttons on the remote or the unit (Ref.8) and (Ref.9) to highlight "Yes". Select this by pressing down the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.12) or press the Enter/Play button on the remote (Rem.26) to confirm prune.
Up to 40 stations can be set as your preset favourite stations for easy navigation. To store a station, ensure you are listening to the station first.
To store a station, hold down a number on the keypad on the remote (Rem.15) to assign the station to that preset number.
Alternatively, to begin storing a station as a preset, press and hold the 'Program' button (Rem.23) on the remote for 3 to 5 seconds until the list of preset slots shows on the display.
Press the 'Up' (Rem.9) or 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to scroll through the available preset numbers. Once on the chosen slot you wish to save the station to, press the 'Enter/Play' button (Rem.26) on the remote to save. The display will then show "Preset [x] saved".
Once your list of presets have been saved, use the P +/- buttons on the remote while in DAB/FM mode to scroll through your preset stations, or simply press the preset number using the keypad buttons on the remote. If the keypad number corresponds to a saved preset station, it will begin playing.
Alternatively, press the 'Program' button to view your preset list.
Press the 'Info' button on the remote (Rem.16) repeatedly to show the different programme information.
PTY ( Programme Type): Shows the type and description of the programme provided by the DAB/DAB+ station.
Network: Shows the network broadcasting the channel.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station's transmission channel number and frequency.
Strength and Bit Error Rate (BER): Displays a signal bar with the strength of the current station and provides details of the signal error rate.
Bit Rate: The data rate which the signal is being transmitted.
Date: Displays the date provided by the broadcaster.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS): Displays scrolling text information supplied by the broadcaster.
Press the 'Mode' button (Ref.5) multiple times on the unit to switch to DAB/DAB+ Radio. To select the mode from the remote press the 'FM/ DAB' button (Rem.19). The first time you switch to FM mode, the FM frequency "87.5 MHz" will be displayed on the screen.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.13) to ensure that the best signal is being received before scanning for available stations.
To auto-scan for available stations with good signal, press the 'INTRO/ AMS' (Automatic Music Scan) button (Rem.4) on the remote control for the radio to begin scanning up the frequency band. The next available station with good signal will then begin to play.
To listen to a specific frequency, press and hold the 'Next' button (Rem.25) on the remote to search forward quickly, or press and hold the 'Previous' button (Rem.10) to search back quickly. It will stop searching when the button is released.
To search slowly through the frequencies, press the 'Next' (Rem.25) or 'Previous' buttons (Rem.10) on the remote multiple times rather than holding them.
When on FM mode, press the Menu button (Rem.8) on the remote to open FM radio settings. Once pressed, the following options will be available to scroll through with the Previous and Next buttons on the remote (Ref.10/25) or using the Navigate/OK dial on the Unit (Ref.12) and can then be selected to open further setting options:
Choose between scanning strong and weak signals (All Stations) or only the stations with strong signal (Strong Stations Only), or the Default Station settings (Normal Stations). Select your chosen option by pressing the 'Enter/Play' button (Rem.26) to confirm your choice.
All stereo stations are reproduced in stereo; for weak stations this can result in poor audio quality. The audio quality in FM mode can be improved by using mono.
Once "Audio Setting" has been selected, press the 'Previous' (Rem.10) or 'Next' (Rem.25) buttons or use the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.) to choose between selecting "Stereo allowed" or "Forced mono". Select your chosen option by pressing the 'Enter/Play' button (Rem.26) to confirm your choice.

Once "Preset Recall" opens, use the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to scroll through your preset stations. Once on the chosen preset station that you wish to play, press the 'Enter/Play' button on the remote (Rem.26) to select your choice and the station will begin to play.
Press the 'Info' button on the remote (Rem.15) repeatedly to show the different programme information.
Programme Type: Displays a description of the type of programme provided by the broadcaster.
Network: Shows the network broadcasting the channel.
Audio Type: Displays the audio type of the station you are listening to (Stereo/Mono).
Date: Displays the date provided by the broadcaster.
Radio Text: Displays scrolling text information supplied by the broadcaster.
To connect the Music System/TV outputs to analogue inputs from the sound board, use the 3.5mm RCA audio cable (supplied) to connect the Music System/TV outputs with the AUX (L/R) input socket from the sound board.
Use a line-in audio cable 3.5mm (not supplied) to connect to the Music System/TV outputs with the AUDIO input socket from the sound board. You can also connect an external device such as an MP3 Player, iPod or iPhone.
Please note all (Ref.) refer to Pages for Controls and Functions and (Rem.) refers to Pages on the remote control functions.
Notes for usage:
Ensure unit is in CD mode by pressing 'CD' (Rem.2) on remote or press 'mode button on unit until CD mode is selected. Insert CD into CD drive. Wait 10 seconds. CD will begin to play.
Press Rem.26/ Ref.10 to Play/Pause.
Press Rem.25/9 Or Ref.9/8 to Fast Forward/Rewind. Once the track time is at the required position, press Play (Rem.26/Ref.10) to Play.
Press Rem.12 to Stop.
Press Rem.17/Ref.11 to Eject. Wait 5 seconds. CD will eject.
Press Rem.25/Ref.9 to Skip to next CD track.
Press Rem.10/Ref.8 to Skip to previous CD track.
For CDs, press the 'REPEAT' button (Rem.5) on the remote multiple times to scroll through the options. The display will show the current REPEAT option you have selected.
Press once to select Repeat Current Track (display shows )
Press twice to select Repeat All (Display shows )
Press 3 times to select Repeat Off.
For CDs, select Random Play by pressing the 'RANDOM' button (Rem.22) on the remote control. (Display shows )
Compatible Discs: CD-R, CD-RW and Audio-CD.
To choose your mode, press through your choices using the 'Mode' button on the unit (Ref.5) or select 'BT' on the remote control (Rem.18). The choices will be displayed on the front screen (Ref.3).
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and "Majority Oakington+" will appear. Click on this to connect. When the unit makes a short sound, it has successfully connected.
To choose music you will need to choose the album or playlist from your phone, but once selected you can then use the 'Previous' (Rem.10) or 'Next' (Rem.25) buttons on the remote to select previous or next tracks.
The operational range between the unit and a Bluetooth device is approximately 10 meters, without any objects in the way.
Pair with another music playing device by connecting via your device while the unit is in Bluetooth mode. To connect/disconnect, press and hold the 'Pair' button on the remote (Rem.7) or connect via your device.
Note: If the connected device supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), you can listen to music stored on the device through the unit. If the device also supports Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), you can use this unit's remote control to play music stored on the device.
AUX Audio-In
You can connect your phone or tablet with an AUX 3.5mm cable that connects to the 'AUDIO-IN' jack on the back of the unit (Ref.14).
Insert the audio cable. To choose AUX mode, press the 'Mode' button (Ref.5) repeatedly on the unit until 'Auxiliary Input' displays on the front screen (Ref.3). Alternatively, select the 'AUDIO' button on the remote (Rem.20).
Now you can begin playing media from your device. Ensure that the volume on the device is switched up for the best sound quality.
Note: when using playback, the 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons on the unit or remote can not be used to navigate through tracks on your phone/ AUX-connected device. This only works in Bluetooth mode.
To charge your device via the USB port, simply insert a USB power cable into the USB charging port (Ref.15) and connect to your device. Charging works in both 'On' and 'Standby' mode.
Insert the USB device into the back of the unit (Ref.15).
To choose USB Mode, press through your choices using the 'Mode' button (Ref.5) on the unit until "USB" displays, or press the 'USB' button on the remote (Rem.3). If a USB stick is attached, the tracks will begin playing automatically.
Please note that USB sticks can only be connected for USB playback. USB mode not compatible with iPhone/iPod/Mp3 players. Use Bluetooth to connect these devices instead, if bluetooth-enabled. Alternatively, use 'Auxiliary input' (AUDIO) mode.
For a USB device, press the 'Repeat' button (Rem.5) on the remote multiple times to view options: Repeat All (ALL), Current Track (SINGLE) or Repeat Off (OFF).
For a USB device, random play can be set by pressing the 'Random' button (Rem.22) on the remote control.
To navigate through folders on your USB drive, press the P +/- buttons (Rem.14) Use P + to skip to the next folder, and use P - to skip to the previous folder.
To navigate through tracks, use the 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons (Rem.10/25).
Make navigating your USB files easier by pressing the 'AMS' button on the remote (Rem.4). Wait for the unit to scan the audio files on your device. After the unit has scanned your USB drive, it will assign a code to each of your files, starting at 001. Press the code corresponding to your chosen file to begin playing it.
Alternatively, use the numbers on the keypad (Rem.15) to select an audio file corresponding to the current folder. If the number does not correspond to a file, the unit will search the next folder.
Manually Setting the Time and Date
The time will automatically update after the first use of DAB radio. However, you can still set the time manually as follows.
Press the 'Clock' button (Rem.13) on the remote.
When setting the time and date, select 'Set Time/Date'. The date will display in the format [DD-MM-YYYY], with the day flashing. The time will display underneath in the format [HH:MM]. Input the Date, Month, Year, Hour and Minutes using the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons on the remote.
Press the 'Clock' button and navigate through the options using the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons on the remote to change between 12 hour or 24 hour clock and date display format between [DD-MM-YYYY] and [MM-DD-YYYY]. Your selection will then be saved.
A timer can be set to automatically turn on and off at certain times and can also be used as an alarm. Press the 'Timer' button (Rem.29) on the remote control. Up to 2 alarms can be set.
Once an alarm slot has been selected, the alarm options available will flash on the display. Choose which sound option you would like to come on using the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons on the remote to scroll through the following options: Buzzer, CD, DAB, FM, USB. Press the 'OK' button (Rem.26) on the remote control to confirm your option.
Input the time that you would like the unit to come on by navigating to 'Date/Time', and using the 'Up' (Rem.9), 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to select your choice on the remote. Press the Press the 'OK' button (Rem.26) on the remote control to confirm your options.
Use the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons or the 'Navigate/OK' dial (Ref.12) to navigate through the menu and change your settings for the Frequency, Date/Time, Source, Preset Station, Duration, and Volume of the alarm. Use the 'OK' button (Rem.26) on the remote to confirm your choices.
To turn off the alarm when playing, press any button.
This enables you to programme the unit to switch off at a specific time, up to 120 minutes from activation.
In working mode, press the 'Sleep' button (Rem.21) on the remote control.
Choose from: Sleep Timer Off, 15mins, 30mins, 45mins, 60mins, 90mins or 120mins by pressing the 'Sleep' button (Rem.21) multiple times.
Once selected, the timer icon will show in the bottom left of the display screen to show that the timer has begun. The icon will display the time remaining. To turn the sleep timer off, follow the above instructions and choose "Off" from the choices.
To view how much time is remaining on the sleep timer, check the display screen, which will show a small moon icon with the number of minutes remaining (Ref.3).
Note: Pressing the 'Sleep' button more than once will reset the timer.
Press 'Dim' (Rem.30) on the remote or select 'Backlight' from the Menu to view display and backlight options. The display will show 'Timeout', 'On Level', and 'Dim Level'.
Timeout: Select this option and change the time lapse between placing the unit on Standby mode and the display going to sleep or dimming.
On Level: Select the brightness of the display when it is on (High/ Medium/Low).
Dim Level: Select the brightness of the 'Dim' level when the unit is placed on Standby. Selecting 'On' will set the device's clock display to permanently show while it is on Standby.
To change the background theme, press the 'Menu' button (Rem.8) and scroll down to 'System Settings'. Select 'System Settings', then Select the first option, 'Theme'. From here, you can choose between Obsidian, Ruby, Emerald, Pearl, Sapphire, and Amethyst.
Obsidian: White text on a Black background.
Ruby: White text on a Ruby background.
Emerald: White text on an Emerald Green background.
Pearl: Black text on a white background.
Sapphire: White text on a Sapphire Blue background.
Amethyst: Black/White text on an Amethyst Purple background.
Press the 'Menu' button (Rem.8) on the remote control.
Use the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to scroll to "System Settings" and press the 'Play/Pause' button (Rem.26) on the remote control to select. Press the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to scroll to "Factory Reset". Use the 'Next' and 'Previous' (Rem.25/10) buttons to scroll between "Yes" or "No" and Press the 'Play/Pause' button (Ref.26) to confirm selection.
Press the 'Menu' button (Rem.8) on the remote control. Use the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons or the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.12) to scroll to "System" and press the 'Play/Pause' button (Rem.26) on the remote control to confirm.
Then use the 'Up' (Rem.9) and 'Down' (Rem.11) buttons to scroll to "Software Version" and press the 'Play/Pause' button (Rem.26) on the remote to confirm. The software version will be displayed.
Connect your headphones to the socket at the rear of the unit (Ref.16). The unit can support Mobile Phone headphones. Please note that the unit can not support Bluetooth/wireless earphones.
