ELVI-1000 (faceplate removed)
Description
The ELVI - 1000 allows control of up to 1000VA at
120V (833VA at 100V) of electronic transformer
supplied low voltage lighting from a GRAFIK Eye®
3000 series Control Unit, or any dimmer designed
for use with Lutron Hi-lume® Fluorescent Dimming
Ballasts.
The ELVI - 1000 mounts in a 2-gang U.S. wallbox
or 4" x 4" junction box ( with extender ring ): 3 1/2"
deep recommended; 2 3/4" deep minimum.
Important Notes
1.
This control must be installed by a qualified
electrician.
2.
Install in accordance with all applicable
regulations.
3.
Improper wiring can result in personal injury,
damage to the control, or damage to other
equipment.
4.
The unit must be mounted vertically in a wall.
Do not mount unit sideways. Overheating may
result.
5.
The ELVI-1000 is not to be used to control
magnetic transformer-supplied low-voltage
lighting. Refer to manufacturer's literature to
verify the type of transformer used.

Installation and Operation
1.
Turn off power to the GRX 3000 Control Unit or
wallbox dimmer as well as the feed to the ELVI -
1000.
Warning:
Always turn off the circuit breaker or remove
the main fuse from the power line before
doing any work. Failure to do so can result
in serious personal injury.
2.
Strip insulation from wallbox wires as shown
below.
3.
Connect wiring as shown in the Wiring
Diagrams on pages 2 and 3. Use the diagram
that corresponds to the type of control you are
using. For GRAFIK Eye 3000 Control Units,
refer to theGRAFIK Eye Control Unit
instructions for the remainder of the control
wiring. For wallbox dimmers, make sure all
unused wires are terminated with a wire
connector. Each terminal on the ELVI-1000 will
accept up to two wires (#12 to #18 AWG).
4.
Confirm all connections and mount the unit as
shown below (2 gang backbox shown).

Restore power to the system. If using a
GRAFIK Eye 3000 Control Unit, the
corresponding zone on the GRAFIK Eye should
be set up as a fluorescent load type. Operate
the GRAFIK Eye 3000 or wallbox dimmer in the
usual way.
