Verification of previously tested items Neither user interface software nor hardware units have been changed on this MS70 system since the Harbour Acceptance Test. For this reason, the registration tables have not been filled out.
  • Page 11: Software Items

Hardware and software registration Software items Every software program provided as a part of the MS70 system delivery must be identified. Part number and software version must be identified. When the MS70 system delivery includes software media (USB flash drive, CD, DVD, etc.), you must register the part number of the media and the software version it contains.

  • Page 16: Common Prerequisites For The Ms70 Sea Acceptance Test Procedures

These are the common prerequisites for the MS70 Sea Acceptance Test procedures: • The MS70 system is installed as specified in the Installation Manual. • The sensor is connected to a communication port on the MS70 system. • The interface port is set up with the correct communication parameters.
  • Page 17 To detect unserviceable transducer elements and/or transceiver boards, you must compare the rectangles. During normal operation at sea the colours will be homogeneous. When operating the MS70 system in port, the colours will be less homogeneous due to the environmental noise and the shallow depth.
  • Page 18: Verifying The Communication With A Navigation System (Gps)

(GPS) Accurate and reliable information from navigation systems are vital to the MS70 operation. The information provided by the navigation systems is used by the MS70 software. Navigational data are also included in the raw data export formats. The information from the navigation sensors are shown on the top bar.
  • Page 19: Verifying The Communication With A Synchronization System

It can be set up to operate in either Master or Slave mode. Synchronization is required in order to avoid interference if the MS70 system is used simultaneously with other hydroacoustic instruments within the same frequency range. You do not need to do this test if the MS70 shall only operate in Standalone mode.
  • Page 20 Select Synchronisation Select synchronization mode. Select the synchronization delay. Make sure that the MS70 operates normally when triggered by the remote synchronization system. Make sure that the MS70 operates while additional hydroacoustic systems (sonars, echo sounders) are in synchronized operation.
  • Page 21: Verifying The Communication With The Motion Reference Unit (Mru)

About this task The motion reference unit (MRU) measures the roll and pitch movements of the vessel. The information provided by the motion sensor is used by the MS70 system to stabilize the beams. This interface test was made during the Harbour Acceptance Test. However, that test was limited due to the static information provided by the sensor.

Matrix each of the channels and transducer elements in the MS70 systems. The presentation is provided on a matrix corresponding to the element locations in the transducer. For receiver testing, the MS70 systems must be operational, and both operational and BITE parameters must be known.
  • Page 26 Kongsberg MS70 Sea Acceptance Test About this task When you move the cursor over the matrix presentation of the transceiver channels, each element in the transducer can be clearly identified as a rectangle. If you place the cursor on top of one of these rectangles, a small yellow tool-tip will identify key information.
  • Page 27: Testing The Transmitter Channels With The Bite Matrix Functionality

Matrix functionality page allows you to monitor the average signal values or signal phases from Matrix each of the channels and transducer elements in the MS70 systems. The page Matrix offers a good tool for testing the transmitter and receiver circuitry. The presentation is provided on a matrix corresponding to the element locations in the transducer.
