    V1.0 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW 9283102 INTRODUCTION The band saw is ideal for cutting curves or straight lines into a wood workpiece. The fence may be set to either side of the guide rail and switched from a regular to low height profile for thin workpieces. The work table tilts for bevel cuts and comes with a mitre guide.

Never confine the part of the workpiece being cut away by holding, clamping or using length stops against it. That part of the workpiece could become wedged against the blade and be thrown violently.

    V1.0 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW 9283102 Use in conjunction with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). It is recommended that the GFCI should have a rated residual current of 30 mA or less. Do not operate this tool if the power cord is frayed, damaged or poorly spliced, as an electric shock may occur, resulting in personal injury or property damage.

    V1.0 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW 9283102 ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION SAW BASE ASSEMBLY Place a washer on each of 12 cap screws and set aside within reach. Place the upright left leg and rear panel on the floor and align the bolt holes. The legs and panels face outwards, so the bolt connections are not visible.

    9283102 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW V1.0 TABLE ASSEMBLY Set the angle guide bracket to zero. It's located at the back of the band saw. Remove the table insert from the table and set aside. Standing behind the band saw, hold the table with the blade slot facing the front and the mitre guide slot on your left.

    V1.0 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW 9283102 Move the fence until it touches the band saw blade. Loosen the four rail knobs, then adjust the fence position so it touches the table and the band saw blade. Tighten each knob carefully, to avoid jostling the fence, until all four are tight.

    9283102 2-SPEED WOODWORKING BAND SAW V1.0 Tighten the knob to secure the square tube. DUST COLLECTION SYSTEM WARNING! Wear proper personal protective equipment to avoid inhaling airborne dust particles while using the band saw. The sawdust port directs the accumulated sawdust from the tool into a dust collection system.

The side bearings reduce blade vibration by restricting the amount of side-to- side movement. The thrust bearing at the back of the blade prevents it from deflecting too much under pressure during a cut.

Adjust the upper guide until it's about 1/4 in. above the highest point of the workpiece. Take a stance that is comfortable and will allow you to maintain your footing without leaning over too far throughout the cut.
