Overview
You can use the following memory modules in exacqVision A-Series and Q-Series servers:
•
The A-Series 2A and the Q-Series: SO-DIMM memory modules.
•
The A-Series FA and FAR: Standard DIMM memory modules.
To upgrade memory in the field, you can use the following configurations:
•
MEM-08G-1FU: For use to upgrade memory in a server from 8 GB to 16 GB.
•
MEM-08G-2FU: For use to upgrade memory in a server from 16 GB to 32 GB
Opening the A-Series chassis
Before you begin:
Shut down the system, then unplug the power cables from the power supply.
WARNING: You must unplug each of the two power cables connected to the A-Series FAR
before you open the case.
1.
Locate the two screws on each side of the rear top cover.
2.
Remove the screws.

Slide the case cover off.

At the rear edge of the top of the server, remove the two case screws.

A-Series 2A and Q-Series To upgrade the A-Series 2A and Q-Series servers, use a SO-DIMM memory module. The SO-DIMM memory module features a notch that corresponds to a raised crossbar in the memory slot on the motherboard. This ensures that you install the module in the correct orientation. Figure 3: SO-DIMM notch Installing the memory module To install the memory modules in an A-Series 2A or Q-Series server, complete the following steps. -

Position the memory module so that the notch aligns with the raised crossbar in the memory slot. Seat the memory module in the slot, then firmly press down until the retaining clips click into place.
