Opening the Q-Series chassis Before you begin: Shut down the system, then uplug the power cables from the power supply. WARNING: You must unplug the power cable before you open the Q-Series case. On the rear of the server, remove the three case screws. At the rear edge of the top of the server, remove the two case screws.
A-Series 2A and Q-Series To upgrade the A-Series 2A and Q-Series servers, use a SO-DIMM memory module. The SO-DIMM memory module features a notch that corresponds to a raised crossbar in the memory slot on the motherboard. This ensures that you install the module in the correct orientation. Figure 3: SO-DIMM notch Installing the memory module To install the memory modules in an A-Series 2A or Q-Series server, complete the following steps.
Position the memory module so that the notch aligns with the raised crossbar in the memory slot. Seat the memory module in the slot, then firmly press down until the retaining clips click into place. Replace the case cover and screws. Connect the power cable.
