14. Connect only those appliances whose voltage (according to their data plate) corresponds to that produced by the generator. IMPORTANT!: This generator uses a floating chassis (refer to technical information sheet). Floating earth generators DO NOT require earthing. UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY Unpack your generator and check all are present. Should there be any missing or damaged during transit contact your CLARKE dealer. BEFORE USING THE GENERATOR Before using your generator check that the generator is: • In good condition and free from any damage.

• DO NOT tilt the generator when adding engine oil. This could result in overfilling and damage to the engine. 5. Replace and tighten the oil filler cap. ADDING/CHECKING THE FUEL LEVEL WARNING: MAKE SURE THERE IS FUEL IN THE TANK WHEN USING THE GENERATOR.

4. Replace the fuel filler cap securely. NOTE: Long range ‘LR’ models are fitted with a three position fuel tap as illustrated in fig.1. These positions are ON/OFF/ RESERVE. • Ensure the tap is set in the required position. • The fuel hose connectors are intact and there is no leakage.
The battery must be prepared as follows: Check to ensure the battery is in good condition, with no damage caused during transit. Should there be any apparent damage, please consult your CLARKE dealer immediately. 1. Disconnect and remove the battery from the frame.
EXTENSION CABLES All extension cables, from the generator set to the appliance, must be carefully selected, fitted and maintained. Cables in accordance with IEC 245-4 should be used. Cables should be inspected regularly, and should be replaced, not repaired in the event of a defect.

Some appliances draw more current on start-up than their normal running current, i.e. electric motors, and compressors. 3. Fill the oil reservoir with fresh oil. • DO NOT fill above the max level mark. • We recommend the use of SAE10W/30 oil in this generator. (CLARKE part number 3050845) 4. 2. Remove the air filter panel and the air filter element. 3. If the air filter is damaged contact the CLARKE spare parts department for a replacement. • If the filter is dirty, wash it in a solution of warm water and mild detergent and then rinse thoroughly.
