Always ensure the surrounding area is free from 1M (3ft) any material that could burn or be damaged by heat.

    USING YOUR GENERATOR A. Starting the Engine IMPORTANT ! Ensure the generator is not connected to any electrical equipment when starting the engine. (See ‘Connecting Electrical Devices’, page 9). Ensure you perform all maintenance tasks before attempting to start the engine. Fig.4 Turn the gas ON at the gas bottle.

    B. Connecting Electrical devices Before connecting any appliance to the generator, it is IMPORTANT to strictly follow all safety precautions previously given, and also to take the following limitations and considerations into account when planning your installation. 1.1 General Ensure that the power rating of the connected appliance does not exceed the rating for the generator (See Specifications), and the appliance is switched OFF.
  • Page 10 With all the above taken into account, and only when completely satisfied that the proposed installation is perfectly safe, proceed to connect and operate the appliances as follows: Ensure the 110/230V selector switch, on top of the generator (C. Fig.1) , is in the MIDDLE (OFF) position, and the electrical appliance is switched OFF (ii) Insert the plug, from the appliance, into the respective socket outlet,...
  • Page 11: Maintenance Schedule

    ALWAYS allow the engine to cool for at least 15 minutes before carrying out any maintenance tasks. Use only those parts provided by CLARKE International. The use of unapproved parts could cause damage to your generator set.
  • Page 12 Carefully wipe the drain hole with a clean, lint free cloth and then replace the drain plug..ensuring the washer is in place and the plug is tight. Fill the sump with new Clarke SAE30 Engine Oil. (see your Clarke dealer and Specifications for details).

    Servicing the Air Cleaner WARNING! NEVER USE PETROL OR INFLAMMABLE LIQUIDS TO CLEAN THE AIR CLEANER ELEMENTS: THIS PRACTICE COULD CAUSE FIRE WITH THE RESULTING CONSEQUENCES.
