    Introduction This guide provides product information for the EL5353 installation instructions, troubleshooting guidelines, and instructions for contacting Icron regarding technical support and warranty information. The instructions in this guide assume a general knowledge of computer installation procedures, familiarity with cabling requirements and some understanding of USB devices.
  • Page 5: Compatibility And Recommended Setup

    This product supports both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices. These devices include: keyboards, mice, flash drives, printers, speakers and microphones. If uncertain whether your USB device(s) can be supported, please contact Technical Support: icron.com/support. Test any expected USB or video devices prior to a performing any large deployment. Some devices may not be compatible with the EL5353.

    Video LED (Green) Blinking Green Light: Video (non-HDCP) content is being transmitted. No Light: There is no video being transmitted. Config Reserved for use by Icron Technologies. Link Port (RJ45) Accepts RJ45 connector for CAT 5e/6/7 cabling. DVI-D In Accepts DVI-D connector for video input from the host computer.

    Installation Guide Before you can install the product, you need to prepare your site: Monitor Computer DVI & USB up to 100m CAT 5e/6/7 (STP recommended) Determine where the computer is to be located and set up the computer. Determine where you want to locate the remote desktop including the monitor, keyboard, mouse and any other USB device(s).

    Connecting the LEX to the REX While unshielded cabling may be used, to ensure proper operation, it is recommended that solid core CAT 6a/7 STP note cabling be used to connect the local extender to the remote extender. The cabling must have a straight-through conductor configuration with no crossovers and must be terminated with CAT 6a/7 connectors to qualify as CAT 6a/7.

    Technical Glossary Category 5e/6/7 (CAT 5e/6/7) Network Cabling Category 5e cable is commonly also referred to as CAT 5e. This cabling is available in either solid or stranded twisted pair copper wire variants and as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) or STP (Shielded Twisted Pair).
