Introduction In This Chapter This chapter contains the following sections: • Overview • Functional Block Diagrams • Features Overview The SRA-9201 Multi-Definition SDI Auto-Reclocking Amplifier is part of the GearLite 9000 series of self-contained, small brick-format modules. The SRA- 9201 is designed for use in both SD and HD systems where signals of more than one digital standard are distributed.

Installing Velcro Strips 1. Remove the protective backing film from the adhesive on the bottom of the two mating Velcro strip sets. 2. Adhere the strip sets to the bottom side of the module as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2. Velcro Installation Option 3.

Flat Metal Plate Use the flat metal plate for permanent mounting to a rack, a desk, or any other location where bolts or screws can be applied. Be sure to position the module to allow for operator adjustments, if required. Installing the Flat Metal Plate 1.

BPM-9000 The BPM-9000 Angle Mounting Bracket enables a single GearLite module to be installed in positions not possible with the flat metal plate.

Figure 8. SRA-9201 Cable Connections Output Polarity SDI Out 1 and 3 are inverting. SDI Out 2 and 4 are non-inverting. Power Adaptor Connect the PS-9000 power adaptor to the power supply connector. The PS- 9000 provides up to 2A of regulated +5V DC (5%). The DC power cord has a locking connector that securely fastens into the power supply DC jack on the converter.
User Controls The SRA-9201 has the following front edge user controls: • DIP Switches • LEDs Figure 9. User Controls DIP Switches The front edge of the amplifier has DIP switches for the user to configure the SRA-9201 to fit into many installations. In most circumstances, the SRA-9201 will be left in the automatic rate selection mode.

Rate (3, 4, 5) These switches only apply when the Rate Select (1) switch is set to Down (Manual). These switches work in tandem to configure the unit to reclock specific rates. See Table 1. DIP Switches 6, 7, and 8 have no function. Note Table 1.

LEDs The front edge of the amplifier has a bank of LEDs that indicate the selected or active data rate through the SRA-9201. There are also two LEDs near the right hand side indicating power and operating status. The LED functions are described in the following table: Table 2.
