Integrated NIC TOE

The TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) functionality of the system's integrated
NIC is activated by the LOM NIC hardware key installed in the TOE_KEY
socket on the system board (see Figure 6-2.) See the user documentation that
came with this system for information on how to set up and configure the TOE
feature.

Processors

You can upgrade your processors to take advantage of future options in speed
and functionality. Each processor and its associated internal cache memory
are contained in a land grid array (LGA) package that is installed in a ZIF
socket on the system board.

Removing a Processor

CAUTION:
cover and access any of the components inside the system. See your Product
Information Guide for complete information about safety precautions, working
inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.
1 Prior to upgrading your system, download the latest system BIOS version
on support.dell.com.
2 Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from the electrical outlet.
3 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 71.
4 Remove the memory module cooling shrouds. See "Removing the Memory
Module Cooling Shrouds" on page 94.
5 Remove the expansion cards from expansion-card riser 2. See "Removing
an Expansion Card" on page 92.
6 Remove expansion-card riser 2. See "Removing Expansion-Card Riser 2"
