Color Coding

The color coding in this manual provides a quick way of understanding the action that will be performed in each step of the installation. Refer to this chart for more information about how each color is used.

Friction Paste Torque Drehmoment Remove/Loosen Install
Apply friction paste to prevent movement between surfaces. Tighten a fastener to a specified value, or apply a tightening force. Remove the component as indicated, either by hand or with a specified tool. Install the component in the indicated position by pressing, inserting, attaching, or placing.
Measure Grease Adjust
Measure a length or distance to a specified value. Apply grease to lubricate and protect components from friction and/or moisture. Adjust the component to the indicated position by moving, sliding, or rotating.

Cassette Installation

Cassette Installation

  1. Apply grease to the driver body threads.
  2. Install the cassette onto the driver body until it is fully seated with the splines engaged.
  3. Tighten the cassette to 40 N·m.

NOTICE

DUB™ Bottom Bracket Installation

DUB™ Bottom Bracket Installation - Step 1

  1. Apply grease that is safe for the bottom bracket frame material.
  2. After confirming the five-way dimensions of the bottom bracket shell, select the corresponding BB part number.

DUB™ Bottom Bracket Installation - Step 2

  1. Remove the left side cup from the center tube.
  2. Remove the right side spacer from the right side cup.

NOTICE
Make sure the right spacer is removed before installing the cups. Failure to remove the spacer will damage the bearings.

DUB™ Bottom Bracket Installation - Step 3

  1. Use a bottom bracket bearing press tool or a headset press to install the left side cup into the non-drive side of the frame.
  2. Install the right side cup and center tube bearing cup into the drive side of the frame.

NOTICE
When pressing in, be sure to check that the boot is properly aligned to the left BB. Failure to correct it will result in damage to the boot.

DUB™ Bottom Bracket Installation - Step 4

  1. Install the spacers.
Frame Shell Width (mm) Outer Left Spacer (mm) Outer Right Spacer (mm)
DUB BB30 73-A
DUB PressFit 30 73-A

  3. Use a rubber or plastic mallet to tap the drive side crank arm until it is fully seated.

DUB™ Crankset Installation - Step 2

  1. Turn the preload adjuster in the + direction until it stops or makes contact with the bearing shield.
  2. Tighten the bolt until the adjuster edges touch.

NOTICE
Do not overtighten the preload adjuster as this could damage the bearing. Do not overtighten the bolt. It is okay if there is a gap in the adjuster, as long as the top edges touch.

Check the crankset for play by rocking the crank arms back and forth.

If there is play in the crankset, remove the crank arms and apply additional grease to the spindle. Turn the preload adjuster in the opposite direction of the + sign until it stops. Repeat the installation procedure until play is eliminated.

SRAM® Battery Installation
