IEC connector of the supply module! • The ATMOS i View is a device of protection class I, designed in line with IEC 60601-1-1/ EN60601-1. To avoid the risk of electrical shock, this device may be connected only to a mains supply with a properly installed earth conductor.
• Pull the power plug immediately if you notice any fumes, sparks or unusual noises at your device. • After lengthy use of the ATMOS i View with an ear speculum, the patient may feel dizzy! • With every light source, warming of tissue due to absorption may occur. Please make sure to reduce the duration of use to a minimum, switch off the light source when not in use and check the heat development of the light source if necessary.

4 Operation 4.1 Microscope suspension • The microscope head is connected laterally to the microscope arm by means of the corresponding suspension. • All connection cables run through the sus- pension – therefore no disturbing cables are visible from the outside (with the exception of the attachment of the option to an ex- ternal camera and direct connection to a monitor).
4.3 Handles When purchasing the ATMOS i View, you can choose between two versions of han- dles. 4.3.1 T handle 4.3.2 Lateral double handle The position of the lateral double hand grip can be gradually adjusted by simulta- neously pulling it laterally and turning the handle.
4.5 Adjusting the eyepiece lenses Persons without glasses: • The eyepiece lenses remain in their initial position. Initial position = eye guidance of the eyepiece lenses pulled out. • Make sure the zero of the dioptre scale matches the index on the eye- piece lenses.
4.6 Exchanging the objective lenses The designated thread on the microscope head allows for easy exchange and fixa- tion of the different objective lenses. Due to the integrated threads, the objec- tive lenses can be loosened by turning them anti-clockwise and fastened by turning them clockwise.
4.9 Setting the fivefold magnification changer The fivefold magnification changer from ATMOS allows the magnification to be changed between 0.5x and 2.0x. • Select the desired zoom factor on one of the lateral locking screws. • Make sure you hear the chosen zoom factor engage in the respective groove.
4.11 Exchanging the lens tube The tube's focal distance of 160 mm allows comfortable and fatigue-proof observation of the object with both eyes. Working is made easier due to the exceptionally large exit pupil and an increased stereo base of 24 mm. Please hold the tube tight with one hand while undoing the screw.

4.18 Adapter for external camera You can connect a SONY digital camera with e-mount connection to the ATMOS i View by means of the specially developed adapter. This camera enables you to take and archive HD-resolution pictures. The adapter is covered with a cover cap when supplied.
If fluid enters the ATMOS i View, the device must be sent in for inspection and may not be put back into operation until it has been checked by a person authorized by ATMOS.
The endoscope mounting is protected against dirt and humidity by an end glass cover. This glass cover must also be cleaned and looked after like the other optical surfaces of the ATMOS i View. This can be done by following the instructions for cleaning optical surfaces.
