Select appropriate restraints for the environment in which the stretcher will be used. Use only plastic or nylon restraints with plastic buckles when the stretcher is in an Magnetic-Resonance (MR) environment. Speed-clip or metal-buckle restraints may not be MR-compatible. This strapping method typically uses three restraints (Figure 10). Apply restraints to stretcher handholds, with buckle and tang attached to opposite sides of the stretcher. Ferno recommends placing all the buckles at one side of the stretcher, and all tangs at the opposite side for ease of application. - Page 15 Adjust the restraint so the feet are held securely (Figure 14).
