CHIP REMOVAL (Continued)
CAUTION: "STOP" band movement before opening
machine doors or
covers.
NOTE:
The DoALL Company recommends removing
chips at least twice per each 8-hour shift,
and more often when necessary.
DRY CUTTING
(1) It may be desireable to cut materials such as
cast
iron,
aluminum, and magnesium without
coolant flow.
(2) Follow same operating procedures as w ith
coolant volume control
opened.
CAUTION: Dry cutting will reduce band life.
TYPICAL OPERATING PROCEDURES
(1) Before any sawing procedure beg ins, it is
assumed that the following preparations have
been
made:
(a) Band drive motor is "off";
(b) The band is properly installed and
tensioned;
(c) Both wheel doors are closed
tightly;
(d) All blade guards are tightly
secured; (e) Coolant reservoir (if supplied) and
all lubrication points tiave been properly
serviced; (f) Chip brush is properly positioned;
(g) Coolant selector is "off"; (h) Roller stock
stand or table (if supplied) is properly
positioned.
(2) Turn head lift cylinder adjustment screw
"
off".
(3) Move head control lever to
"hold".
(4) Grasp band tension handwheel and .lift head
manually until its "hold" mechanism is
activated.
(5) Adjust moveable vise jaw and moveable saw
guide arm for desired stock
width.
(6) Position workstop (if supplied) at desired
place on stock unloading table.
(7) Turn handwheel to set desired initial band
speed.
(8) Push stock into desired cutting position and
secured.
(9) Pull band drive motor "start"
button.
(10) Turn head control lever to "release". Turn
head lift cylinder adjustment screw gradually
until desired head fall rate is reached.

NOTE: Head fall rate can be changed at any time
during the sawing cycle.
(11) If coolant is
supplied,
turn selector switch
"on". Then adjust flow with left saw guide
arm until fluid covers both band sides. This
can also be adjusted during sawing
cycle.
(12) Change band speed setting when necessary
by turning handwheel.
(13) When the cut is finished, the machine will
"
stop". Then
:
(a) Remove cut stock piece;
(b) Move head control lever to "hold";
(c) Raise head and prepare for another cut
according to above instructions.
