Safety Safety Terms and Symbols Used In this manual and on the unit itself, certain recurring terms and symbols are used to warn you of hazards or give you information that is important in order to prevent injury or damage. To avoid accidents and damage, observe and follow these instructions. These terms and symbols are explained below.

Safety DANGER Danger due to electric shock Penetration of liquid into the unit can cause electric shocks and short circuits. – Opening the electronics box is prohibited. – Protect the unit from splashing water. – Switch off the unit and disconnect the mains plug before cleaning and maintenance work.

Changes and Alterations The accessories may be used only in connection with a Memmert waterbath WTB. The accessories must not be converted or modified without permission. No parts may be added or installed which have not been approved by the manufacturer.

Readjusting the temperature control The temperature control of the WTB waterbath is optimised for standing water. The temperature control may require readjustment when a CPM650 circulation pump is in operation, as flowing water has a higher heat transfer coefficient than standing water.

Product Use 3.3.1 Intended Use The Memmert circulation pump is intended exclusively for use with a Memmert waterbath WTB. It is used for the internal circulation of the tempering medium in the waterbath. 3.3.2 Use Not in Accordance with the Intended Purpose The circulation pump is used exclusively for internal circulation in the waterbath and is not intended for temperature control of external circuits.

Design and Description ■ Heavy dust production or aggressive vapours in the vicinity of the unit could lead to sedimentation in the interior and, as a consequence, could result in short circuits or damage to electrical parts. For this reason, sufficient measures to prevent large accumulations of dust or aggressive vapours should be taken.

Memmert units can become contaminated by loading infectious substances or by environmental influences at the place of installation. All parts of the affected unit must be decontaminated both before sending to our service department and before disposing of the unit.
