About Heart Rate

Your heart rate is a good indicator of your overall health, and Steel HR Sport measures it at regular intervals, day and night, to give you round-the-clock insights.
By default, Steel HR Sport automatically measures your heartbeat every 10 minutes, so you can see how it changes throughout the day.
You also have the option of viewing your continuous heart rate when you are launching a workout session on your watch. During the workout, a measurement is taken every second.
Steel HR Sport also tracks your heart rate during sleep by showing its progression throughout the night.
About Heart Rate
The graph produced by the app allows you to follow the evolution of your heart rate over several days or even weeks—but you can also see a snapshot at any time on the watch by pressing the button.

Multisport tracking

Whether you're into yoga, playing volleyball, boxing, skiing, or playing ice hockey, Steel HR Sport tracks up to 30 activities. You can select your favorite workouts directly on the watch screen with a long push of the button. Press to scroll through the activities and press and hold to start your workout.
You can choose the workouts that appear on the screen from a list of activities in your Health Mate settings. To do so, simply follow this path: Devices > Steel HR Sport > More settings > Workout screen customization. You can select and arrange up to 6 exercises for quick access when you start a workout on your watch.
In workout mode, Steel HR Sport tracks your continuous heart rate as well as the workout duration. After the workout, you will see a workout overview in Health Mate, showing the workout intensity and the time spent in heart rate zones, as well as the number of calories burned.Multisport tracking

Connected GPS

Connected GPS means that when running with your smartphone, you will be able to track the route you have covered on a map in Health Mate. Also, you will see additional workout metrics, including pace, distance, and continuous heart rate, while walking, running, or cycling.
Connected GPS - Step 1

These metrics will be displayed in real time during the workout on your watch screen and on your phone. To use connected GPS, Steel HR Sport needs to be connected via Bluetooth. You must enable the location settings on your smartphone.
Connected GPS - Step 2

Fitness Level assessment based on VO2 max estimation

Steel HR Sport offers a Fitness Level assessment, a score between 17 and 60 that is based on several determinants and a fitness indicator called VO2 max, which estimates the heart's and muscles' ability to convert oxygen into energy during physical exercise. The determinants used to calculate Fitness Level include age, sex, and weight. These are combined with the GPS data Steel HR Sport tracks during your running sessions. Fitness Level is then estimated by comparing your heart rate and your running pace.
Fitness Level assessment - Step 1
The higher your Fitness Level, the fitter you are. People with a higher VO2 max usually have a lower heart rate during running sessions. People who are new to the workout game have a higher heart rate at the same pace and therefore have a lower VO2 max. In the app, you can also compare your results with those of people who have similar profiles.
Fitness Level assessment - Step 2
To view a correct estimate, you need to go on runs that are at least 10 minutes long. It is also recommended that you run on flat terrain, because running downhill or uphill can cause the watch to record too much or too little effort, which can throw off the estimate.
When you feel comfortable, include high-intensity intervals in your workouts. Doing so can help you to get a more accurate estimate.
Continuity is key: wear Steel HR Sport with the enabled GPS feature every time you go on a run. This not only delivers the most accurate measurement, but also shows your cardio fitness development over time.
