After awhile, it will reduce the temperature to 88°C / 190°F and continue cooking again. By gradually reducing the temperature, the seasonings can easily soak into the ingredients. • Be careful when making menus other than those listed in the supplied COOKBOOK. Some dishes may cause boil-over.
  • Stir ingredients well before cooking to prevent the seasonings from concentrating at the bottom of the inner pan.
  • When you cook a dish using boiled sauce, cool the sauce down once before you start cooking.
  • If you want to add some thickness to the dish with starch, use it at the last step of the cooking.

How to clean the rice cooker

Clean the rice cooker.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Wash all parts by hand. Do not use a dish washer to wash parts.
We recommend that you clean the rice cooker within the day you use it. This can help extend the life of your rice cooker. It is also recommended that you clean the rice cooker periodically.

  • When using the slow cook function, because odors can easily linger, be sure to clean the cooker within the day of use.

  1. Clean with a sponge and water, or with lukewarm water.
  2. Wipe water away with a dry cloth, and dry the parts completely.

  • Do not use the polishing part of the sponge to clean the inner pan. Doing so may cause the fluorine coating of the inner pan to peel.
  • Do not put dishes into the inner pan and use it as a dishpan. When drying the inner pan, do not put it over dishes or pile it together with dishes. Doing so may cause the fluorine coating of the inner pan to peel.
  • Wipe the inside and outside of the main body with a tightly wrung-out squeezed cloth to make it clean.
  • Wipe the power cord with a dry cloth.
  • Remove rice or grain which is stuck on the upper casing or hook button.
  • Remove rice or grain which is burned and stuck on the heater plate or center sensor.

  • Make sure that there is no water entering inside the main body.
  • Do not soak the power cord in water or splash it with water. Doing so may result in short-circuiting, electric shock, or malfunction.
  • Do not pull the gasket which is attached to the lid.

  • Do not remove gaskets.
  • To prevent corrosion and odor, always keep the inner pan and the lid clean.
  • Do not use chemicals such as thinner, cleanser, or bleach, or a chemical-soaked dustcloth. Also, do not use hard materials such as metal spatulas or nylon brushes.
  • Start cleaning only after you have removed parts.
  • Do not soak the pressure control cap, measuring cup, or rice paddle in hot water.
  • Do not use a dishwasher/dryer.
  • Clean the pressure control cap every time you cook rice mixed with multigrain, such as amaranth. Failure to do so may cause the steam vent of the pressure control cap to become clogged. This may result in malfunctions such as stuck lid, or poor performance.

How to remove or attach the pressure control cap
How to remove or attach the pressure control cap

While using, water may drip from the lid or other parts and may stain the heater plate. Although stains on the heater plate do not affect the performance of the rice cooker, if it worries you, follow the cleaning steps shown below.

  1. Apply a cleaner to the nylon brush, and use it to remove stains on the heater plate.
  2. Wipe the stain out using wet kitchen papers or cloth.
