ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GENERAL PROCEDURES W ire color code C onnector diagrams Two-color wires are indicated by a two-letter Connector diagrams may be shown on the harness Connector diagrams show connectors on the harness symbol.The first indicates the base color of the side or the terminal side, extreme care must be taken to side.
VEHICLE PREPARATION 1. Disconnect battery 10mm Socket a. Remove the battery cover to access the battery. b. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery terminal by loosening the 10mm bolt. (FIGURE A) FIGURE A 2. Remove the following components: a. Using a fiber stick, remove the driver’s side scuff plate. The scuff plate is held by (4) clips.

VEHICLE PREPARATION, continued e. Remove the (2) phillips screws underneath the instrument cluster. Disengage the (3) retaining clips across the top of the Meter (instrument cluster) by pulling it toward the rear of the vehicle. (FIGURE E) Screws FIGURE E f.

VEHICLE PREPARATION, continued Retaining DSC Switch Retaining Clip h. Partially remove the lower dash trim panel by pulling to- Clip wards the driver’s seat to disengage the (4) retaining clips. Disconnect the OBDII and DSC switch connec- tors. (FIGURE I & J) NOTE: The lower dash trim cannot be completely removed with- out disassembling the center console trim.

VEHICLE PREPARATION, continued Pressure Clips Remove the glove box insert from the dash assembly by Pressure Clips disengaging the (10) pressure clips by pulling toward the rear of the vehicle. (FIGURE M) l. Remove the black plastic shield behind the glove box insert that covers the SKE module by removing (2) phillips screws.
DIPOLE ANTENNA MOUNTING 1. Driver’s A-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation Clips a. Partially peel back the rubber weatherstrip away from the A-pillar trim. b. Pull the A-pillar trim, to disengage clips “A” and “B”. (FIGURE S) c. Remove the A-pillar and store in a safe location. FIGURE S NOTE: USE NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS TO GRASP “CLIP B”.

DIPOLE ANTENNA MOUNTING, continued 5. Route the antenna wire behind the left side of the dashboard and over to the remote start control module. Plug the 2-pin antenna connector into the 2-pin port on the back of the re- mote start control module. (FIGURE W) CAUTION: The antenna wire must be routed as close as possible to the factory harness to avoid any interference with the hood release lever.
GROUND CONNECTION 1. Locate the 10 mm factory bolt, mounted high up under the dash, to the left of the steering column (FIGURE Y) 2. Using a 10 mm socket and ratchet, remove the 10 mm bolt. 3. Using the 10 mm bolt just removed, secure the remote start harness BLACK/ORANGE ground wire with ringlet and tighten with a 10 mm socket and ratchet.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - STEERING COLUMN IMMOBILIZER INTERFACE CONNECTOR 1. Route the remote start Immobilizer Interface harness with 4-pin male and female connectors over the factory harness, along the left side of the steering column. Continue to route the harness over the steering column to the right side following the factory wiring harness.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - METER (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER) ALTERNATOR (TACHOMETER) CONNECTION 1. Route the remote start VIOLET/WHITE wire with terminal up to the back of the Meter. Secure to the factory harness with (2) supplied wire ties. Trim off excess wire ties. (FIGURE BB) 2.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - SKE MODULE HARNESS ROUTING 1. Route the BROWN, YELLOW, ORANGE/BLACK and LIGHT GREEN wires along the factory wiring harness, behind the radio and over to the SKE module located behind the glove box area. (FIGURE EE) CAUTION: CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THE HARNESS IS ROUTED IN A MANNER THAT AVOIDES ANY SHARP METAL EDGES.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - SKE MODULE, continued CAUTION: ENSURE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED AND ISOLATED. NOTE: Disengage the connectors from the SKE Module to make the following connections easier. CONSTANT +12v CONNECTION 1. Locate the 6-pin connector (0914-201A) on the right side of the SKE Module.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - SKE MODULE, continued ACCESSORY CONNECTION 1. Locate the 12-pin connector (0914-201B), 2nd connector from the right side of the SKE Module. (FIGURE JJ) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1”-2” of the electrical tape to expose the wiring.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - BODY CONTROL MODULE NOTE: Disengage the connectors from the BCM to make the following connections easier, if necessary. HORN CONNECTION 1. Locate and disengage the 24-pin bottom connector (0940-01B) at the Body Control Module mounted in the upper left kick panel area.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - BODY CONTROL MODULE, continued DOME LIGHT CONNECTION 1. Locate the 24-pin top connector (0940-01A), at the Body Control Module in the upper left kick panel area. (FIGURE RR) 2. Partially remove the secondary lock on the bottom of the 24-pin connector.

WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - BRAKE SWITCH BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTION 1. Locate the 4-pin brake switch connector (0918-701) at the top of Brake Switch the brake pedal. (FIGURE VV) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1”-2” of the electrical tape to expose the wiring.

PROGRAMMING BUTTON MOUNTING 1. Connect the Programming button to the corresponding remote Wire Tie start module connector (if disconnected). 2. Secure the Programming button to the remote start harness with (1) small wire tie. (FIGURE ZZ) NOTE: ENSURE THE PROGRAMMING BUTTON IS SECURED TO THE REMOTE START HARNESS IN A MANNER THAT ALLOWS FOR FUTURE SERVICEABILITY.

RE-ASSEMBLY, continued e. Reinstall the lower dash trim panel by reconnecting the Retaining Retaining DSC Switch Clip OBDII and DSC switch connectors and engaging the (4) Clip retaining clips. UNDERHOOD WARNING LABEL MOUNTING 1. Open the engine hood and locate the open area on the upper radiator support. (FIGURE LLL) 2. Using an alcohol pad, clean the mounting surface thoroughly. 3. Remove the backing on the underhood sticker and mount in place. WARNING: / AVERTISSEMENT This vehicle is equipped with a remote controlled engine starter.

IMMOBILIZER INTERFACE PROGRAMMING Please read this entire procedure prior to attempting on the vehicle. Ensure both vehicle keys and 1 programmed remote start transmitter are in hand when program- ming. 1. Immobilizer Interface Programming: NOTE: Two programmed keys are required for this step and the engine hood must be closed. Ensure both keys successfully start the vehicle.
FUNCTION TEST Car Find 1. Press and hold START button - Horn should beep six times and parking lights should flash six times. Remote Engine Start Functions 1. REMOTE ENGINE START - Make sure the valet key is removed from the ignition switch, all doors, hood and trunk are closed (dome light is off) and the vehicle ignition is off.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE NOTE: IN ORDER TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE REMOTE START SYSTEM, IT IS ADVISABLE TO REVIEW THE OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS. 1. Horn honks 2 times & vehicle does not remote start - Safety input activated. a.
FINALIZING THE INSTALLATION 1. NOTE: After reassembling the vehicle parts, check for any dirt. Clean any dirty parts. 2. NOTE: After completing the installation, refer to the vehicle Owner’s Manual for instructions on how to reset the clock and preset radio stations. CAUTION: Disconnecting the battery may cause the DSC indicator light to become inoperable.
