Messenger
Passing a note to a friend is perfectly
OK on MSN TV. With MSN Messenger,
you can send real-time, instant
messages to your online contacts.
30
They can send instant messages back to you, too. Instant
messaging is quicker than an e-mail — you can see your
contact's response on your screen as soon as they type it —
and it's more personal than a conversation in a chat room
full of people.
This section shows you how to make someone a Messenger
contact, reply to someone who wants to make you a
contact, and exchange instant messages.
If you want more information, choose Help from anywhere
in Messenger.
Exchanging instant messages
Before you begin exchanging instant
messages with someone, you need
to make that person a contact.
You can add as a contact anyone who uses MSN Messenger
and who has an e-mail address that ends in hotmail.com,
msn.com, webtv.net, or passport.com, or anyone who has
a .NET Passport.
