Thermal Cut-Out Detected
Under normal test conditions, the accessory is expected to exceed a
temperature of 41°C during the test and the thermal cut-out in the
mattress should open the circuit.
Upon detecting the accessory going open circuit, the test is
considered a PASS. The audible alarm will initiate with a MEDIUM
priority tone. At the point that the test is considered a pass, a
message should be written to the log file indicating that the test has
been executed, that the test status was a PASS, the time remaining
on the test and measured temperature of the accessory when the cut-
out going open circuit was detected.
• The green tick is displayed, indicating that the test has passed
• The alarm pause button is displayed, allowing silencing of the
audible alarm
• The countdown timer is stopped and displays the time remaining
• The accessory temperature measurement is frozen, displaying the
measured temperature at the point the cut-out was engaged
• The channel 3 indicator will flash alternately between the
temperature display and the mattress cut-out warning symbol
• The user must press the white tick to return to the settings screen
Thermal Cut-Out Not Detected
The thermal cut-out test is considered a failure if the 15-minute
countdown timer expires before a thermal cut-out is detected by
the AlphaCore
Controller .
5
Upon expiration of the timer, the test is considered a FAIL. The
audible alarm will initiate with a LOW priority tone. A message
should be written to the log file indicating that the test has been
executed, that the test status was a FAIL and recording the
measured temperature of the accessory at the end of the
15-minute duration.
Note: Failure to reach target temperature will still constitute a
cut-out test failure even though the cut out is not expected to trigger
at a lower temperature.
