• Do not operate any unit after it malfunctions. Disconnect power at the service panel and have
the unit inspected by a reputable electrician before reusing.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any unit opening as this may cause electrical
shock, fire, or damage to the unit.
• To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any way whatsoever.
• Use this unit only as recommended by the manufacturer. Any other use may cause electrical
shock, fire, or damage to the unit.

    GENERAL INFORMATION • This unit has been tested for capacity and efficiency so as to provide many years of safe and dependable comfort providing it is properly installed and maintained . With regular maintenance, this unit will operate satisfactorily year after year .

    GENERAL INFORMATION—CONTINUED Unit Location ⚠ CAUTION ⚠ Do not install the unit where it may be exposed to water spray, rain, or dripping water. NOTE: For model HACE, it is recommended that the intake air temperature be ≥66°F (≥19°C). The bottom of the air curtain should be flush with the top of the door opening if possible so that its air stream has a clear path to the open doorway and is not blocked by the door header before it reaches the open door .

    Unit Mounting ⚠ WARNING ⚠ • Before mounting the unit, check the supporting structure to verify that it has sufficient load- carrying capacity to support the weight of the unit (refer to Weights section). • Ensure that all field-supplied hardware used to mount the unit is of sufficient size and strength to support the weight of the unit.
  • Page 8 INSTALLATION—CONTINUED Unit Mounting—Continued 2 . Install mounting hardware as follows, lift unit into mounting position, and secure unit to wall or ceiling: Figure 3, DETAIL A): a . To wall-mount unit (see (1) Install four 3/8-inch bolts or lag screws through back of cabinet to secure air curtain to wall . Use long ratchet extension to avoid having to remove motor/blower plate .

    Electrical Connections ⚠ CAUTION ⚠ • Ensure that all wiring is in accordance with the wiring diagram provided with the unit. • All electrical wiring and connections, including electrical grounding MUST BE made in accordance with the National Electric Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70 (latest edition) or, in Canada, the Canadian Electric Code (Part 1, CSA C.22.1).

    MAINTENANCE ⚠ WARNING ⚠ • Ensure that electrical power is OFF before servicing the unit. • Eye protection is recommended when cleaning the unit. ⚠ CAUTION ⚠ • When any service is completed, ensure that the unit is reassembled correctly so that no unsafe conditions are created.

    MAINTENANCE—CONTINUED Maintenance Procedures—Continued Cleaning Return Air Screen and Filter Periodically clean return air screen and filter (see Figure 4) . The cleaning schedule will vary per location depending on the amount of particles in the air . The holes in the screen must be free from obstructions to ensure that the blower(s) can get enough air to function properly .
