Preliminary information The ReAct 4 Gas Detector is a device designed as a component of the Gas Safety System dedicated for operation in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and under heavy-duty industrial conditions with a broad range of ambient parameters variations (high temperatures, corrosive gases, moisture and dust).
www.atestgaz.pl Electronic compensation of the influence of ambient temperature. Self-test functionality. Storage of such parameters as: the CAS number of the substance, location name, serial number, the interval between mandatory calibrations, etc., in an internal memory of the device. Marking of the explosion protection degree Figure 2: Information on the rating plate of the device Description Ex code for the device...
www.atestgaz.pl 1.4.1 Replacement of cable glands and blanking plugs To replace/screw the cable gland or blanking plug: remove the gland/blanking plug from device (when is screwed in), apply small amount of technical vaseline on the thread of the gland/blanking plug, screw in a new gland/blanking plug (remember to use the appropriate torque specified by the manufacturer).
www.atestgaz.pl Mode Description Calibration It is the mode when settings of the detector can be adjusted and the operability of the device can be checked without raising of an alarm (actually, the system behaviour shall be determined by the interpretation of the data by the central system). The detector can be switched to this mode by means of the appropriate software.
www.atestgaz.pl Before painting the facility walls make sure that the device is properly protected against unintentional painting or paint splashing. Before use of silicon or silicon-based materials (paints, adhesives, sealant, etc.), make sure that the device is properly protected against unintentional coating. Working environment Details about the working environment parameters can be found in the Guide –...

www.atestgaz.pl RS-485 serial transmission Communication via the RS-485 port employs either the Modbus ASCII or the Sigma Bus protocol (when the detector is used with other devices of the Sigma system). Detectors provided with the RS-485 port transmit output signals in the digital form (see Appendix [2]). Each detector provides information about its status by transmission of the following parameters: result for measurements of gas concentration expressed as percentage of the full range, information whether warning /alarms thresholds are exceeded or not,...

www.atestgaz.pl Life cycle Transportation The device can be shipped in the same way as new equipment of that type. If the original package or another protecting means (e.g. corks) is unavailable the conveyed equipment must be secured against shocks, vibrations or moisture by means of adequate methods and material at the own responsibility of the sender.
www.atestgaz.pl arrange the cable correctly so that it is free of mechanical stress and water cannot penetrate into the detector down the cable – see Figure 15, tighten the cable gland, reinstall the detector cover, make sure that the seal is in place, tighten the locking screw (for version E=ALB, ALZ, SS).
www.atestgaz.pl Do not leave a spare length of a cable inside the device. Bare wires with worn insulation or entangled wires may create a danger of electric shock or equipment damage. Do not leave disconnected cables inside the device. Incorrect cable routing may lead to worsening of the device immunity to electromagnetic interferences.

6.6.4 Scheduled inspection Gas detectors ReAct 4 are designed for operation in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. Thus, its explosion-proof properties must be verified and maintained on regular basis in the following way: check of the cable gland and make sure that it is tight and free of damage.
www.atestgaz.pl 6.6.5 Maintenance The regular maintenance of the detector is limited to wiping its housing with a damp soft cloth. cleaning agents that contain solvents, white spirit or alcohol are not allowed. Utilization This symbol on a product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with other household waste.
