Port Forwarding is used when you want to provide public access to services running on your
private LAN (such as a web server, e-mail server or FTP server). When a firewall is enabled,
certain ports on a LAN may be blocked. Port forwarding allows incoming traffi c from the Internet
a
nd directs it to specific services on your LAN based on the configured IP address and port
number. In other words, re

ortal will forward these requests to the appropriate port on the PC.
The specific port forwarding rules you need to implement will be detailed in the

ocumentation. For your convenience, we have included a table of commonly used port numbers
below.
