6. Battery Installation The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the G3. G3 requires 2 x AA alkaline batteries (supplied). To install the batteries: Slide the button on battery cover and lift it upwards as shown on Diagram A and B. Insert the 2 x AA batteries.

7.1 LCD Display By default, the 3 digit LCD screen displays the number of images taken. It is also used in conjunction with the Feature Button and Feature Changing Button to access and display the G3 settings. P A L NT S C HIG H NOR MA L...
7.2 Power 7.2.1 Stand-by Mode After a period of 60 seconds inactivity, the G3 will switch to Stand-by Mode automatically and the LCD will go blank. All images taken will not be lost as they are stored in the G3's memory.

7.3 CompactFlash™ Card Your G3 already comes with 8MB internal memory for storing images. If this is not enough memory for you, you can extend your G3's storage capacity up to 64MB by inserting a CompactFlash™ memory card (not included). They are available from all good computer and camera retailers.

7.3.3 Using a CompactFlash™ Card (not supplied) Notes: Remember to switch off your G3 before inserting or ejecting a CompactFlash™ Card. The card will only enter the G3 one way. To Insert a CompactFlash™ Memory Card: Open the card slot located at the side of your G3. (Diagram A) Push the memory card all the way into the card slot.
8. Getting Started 8.1 Switching the G3 On To switch your G3 on by pressing the Power ON/OFF button, which is located on the top of your G3, and 2 "beep" sounds will be heard. Power will automatically be turned off if there are no user actions for 60 seconds.
• Feature Button Pressing the Feature Button will enter the Feature Setting Mode and will cause only one of the LCD Feature icons to be displayed. Pressing the Feature Button cycles through which Feature is currently selected. Pressing the Feature Change Button changes the setting of the selected feature.
Using the Feature and Feature Change Button • Image Setting The first feature is the Image Setting. After pressing the Feature Button, depending upon the current G3 setting, either HIGH / NORMAL / LOW, 2X (Digital Zoom), or icon will be displayed.
• Self-Timer After exiting the Feature Setting Mode press the Feature Button to scroll to Self-Timer On or Self-Timer Off. Press the Feature Change Button to turn On and Off. To capture an image using the self-timer, press the Shutter Button to initiate the countdown.
8.3 Taking an Image The G3 allows you to easily take digital image shots. This section shows you how to take images with your G3. To take digital image shots with your G3, make sure that there is enough battery power or that your G3 is connected to your computer via the USB cable.
8.4 Taking a Movie Clip You can record movie clips in .MOV format by using your G3. This section shows you how to record a movie clip. In Movie Mode, G3 captures QuickTime motion movie clips at 160 x 120 resolution. These video clips are stored as .MOV files, which can be subsequently viewed on a computer using QuickTime or other .MOV compatible applications.
8.5 Erasing Contents from Your G3 When both the G3's internal memory and the inserted CompactFlash™ Card are full, it is time for you to erase some or all of their contents to free up storage space. Before you erase anything, make sure that you transfer the contents first to your computer if you still want to use them.
9. Connecting your G3 to Your Computer Always switch G3 on before connecting via the USB cable to your computer. The USB cable allows you to upload images from the G3 to your PC or Mac. One end of the cable connects to the USB port on the side of the G3 and the other end connects to your PC's or Mac’s USB port.
