New STIHL TS 460 Cutquik, type 4221
1. General description
The new STIHL TS 460 adds a handy, powerful,
machine to the range of Cutquiks from STIHL.
With an engine power of 3.5 kW (4.75 HP) and a
maximum torque of 4.6 Nm (0.46 kpm), this new
machine meets the high demands of non-stop
handheld or cutquik cartcutting.
With regard to the advanced technical design, the
TS 460 is characterized by fewer components and
shorter repair times.
Other innovative features include the top handle
designed in line with ergonomic requirements and
the semi-automatic V-belt tensioner.
The effective anti-vibration system with five rubber
buffers considerably reduces the stress due to
vibrations.
The slide control with function symbols on the
handle allows convenient operation of the various
functions with the thumb of the right hand.

- Page 2 Technical Information 02.94 - Page 2 2. Technical description 2.1 Engine unit The newly developed engine comprises a cylinder (1) and two-part crankcase (2). The crankcase is sealed off by two rotary shaft seals with additional dust lip. The cylinder is made from a special aluminium alloy and the bore is galvanically lined with an extremely wear-resistant alloy.

- Page 4 The fuel tank has a capacity of 0.95 litres/2.0 pt (950 ccm). The large filler opening is located on top of the housing and fuel can easily be filled wit- hout spilling (e.g. using the STIHL filling system) while the machine remains in its normal working V-belt tensioner: position.

- Page 7 Technical Information 02.94 - Page 7 5.4 Tightening torques DG screws are screwed into the plastic parts of the TS 460. These screws are self-tapping when screwed into a material for the first time. The material undergoes permanent deformation. The screws can be removed and retightened as often as desired.
- Page 8 Important note: Only the new locking strip (Item 1) may be used to block the crankshaft of the TS 460. The piston will be damaged if one of the former locking strips in the range of STIHL special servicing tools is used. The new locking strip can be used for all STIHL engines with central, vertical spark plug seat.
