    5 - FRAMING REQUIREMENTS NOTE: Framing dimensions should allow for wall covering thickness and fireplace facing materials. When using a hearth, adjust rough opening size as necessary to maintain at least minimum clearance requirements. CAUTION: Install fireplace on metal, concrete or hard wood surface extending the full width and depth of fireplace. CAUTION: Vent cap location must be in compliance with guidelines in Section 8 (Venting) of this manual.

Framing dimensions noted are minimum framing dimensions to combustible materials only, and it is the responsibility of the installer for determining framing dimensions that allow for wall covering thickness and fireplace facing materials for each individual installation.     6 - MANTEL REQUIREMENTS B. TV AND MANTEL MOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS Frame up the fireplace following the manual instructions. We recommend using one larger 2x8 or 2x10 header rather than doubled up 2x4’s. This is particularly relevant when installing the models with larger vent pipe that won’t have the proper clearance to combustibles around the pipe. Plan for the TV outlet and cable routing.

The make-up air must be sized appropriately for all appliances that require room air. The fireplace will draw from the room: See Table 8C. TETHERED CONTROL PANEL INSTALLATION GUIDELINES The Indoor tethered control box is meant to provide an easier access to the controls when a fireplace is mounted in a difficult location, when the fireplace base is shorter than normal, or when it is desired to have the controls in another location.
