This chapter describes the accessories, operating environment, precautions, and operating check for person- nel who operate the 6540/6541. Read this manual before using the 6540/6541. Product Overview The 6540/6541 is a 4-Channel DC Voltage Current Source/Monitor that offers high sensitivity with 4 -digit source resolution and 5 -digit measurement resolution, as well as various sweep functions and a pulse mea- surement function with a minimum pulse width of 50 s.

1.5 Operating Check Operating Check This section describes the simple self-test which must be performed when operating the 6540/6541 for the first time. Follow the procedure below to ensure the instrument operates correctly. Ensure that the POWER switch on the front panel is set to OFF.
1.5 Operating Check Set the POWER switch on the front panel to ON. 6540: After all the LEDs (OPR, SUS, LMT and ERR) turn ON, a self-test is per- formed. When the test finishes normally, the LEDs (OPR, SUS, LMT and ERR) go OFF.

Since the circuit configuration is common among all the four channels, the operations on one channel are described below. • The 6540/6541 contains a DA converter SrcDAC, for setting the voltage source or current source.
