Please note that the blade nut is a nyloc nut to be used
for one time assembly only. After the nut has been
assembled once, it must not be re-used. When installing/
re-installing the blade onto the gear box assembly, use a
new nyloc nut. Failure to follow this procedure can result
in serious injury.
Replace the blades when worn down to the indicator hole
on the blade.
■
Stop the product, disconnect from the power supply, or
remove the battery pack (if applicable), and make sure
all moving parts have come to a stop.
■
Align the slot in the flange washer and gear head with
the slot in the flange; place the holding pin through all
the slots to secure in place.
■
Using a spanner, turn the blade nut clockwise to loosen.
■
Remove the old blade from the edger shaft.
■
Clean debris from the edger shaft and flange washers.
■
Centre the new blade on the flange washer, making
sure the blade sits flat.
■
Install the lower flange washer with the hole off of the
blade surface.
■
Install the blade nut onto the edger shaft.
■
Using a spanner, turn the blade nut counter clockwise
onto the edger shaft and tighten the blade nut more
than 20 N.m.
■
This replacement part is available from the place of
purchase.
NOTE: Always make sure the blade is correctly installed
and securely fastened before each use.
ATTACHING THE STORAGE HANGER
See Figure 9.
There are two ways to hang the attachment for storage.
■
To use the hanger cap, push in the button and place the
hanger cap over the end of the edger attachment shaft.
Slightly rotate the cap from side to side until the button
locks into place.
■
The secondary hole in the attachment shaft can be
used for hanging purposes as well.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
FOR ASSEMBLING WITH PETROL-DRIVEN POWER
HEAD
■
Stop the engine, and allow it to cool before storing or
transporting.
■
Clean all foreign material from the product.
■
Drain all fuel from tank into a container approved for
petrol. Remember to properly replace and tighten the
fuel cap.
■
If applicable, drain all lubricant from tank into a
container approved for lubricant. Remember to properly
replace the lubricant cap.

WARNING
■
Run the engine until it stops, this will remove all fuel
that could become stale and leave varnish and gum in
the fuel system.
■
Store the product in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated
place that is inaccessible to children. Keep away from
corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-
icing salts. To reduce the fire hazard, keep storage area
free of grass, leaves or excessive grease.
■
Do not store outdoors.
■
When transporting the product in a vehicle, secure it
against movement or falling to prevent injury to persons
or damage to the product.
■
Never carry or transport the product while the engine
is running.
■
Abide by all government and local regulations for the
safety storage and handling of petrol.
SHORT TERM (LESS THAN ONE MONTH)
■
Stop the engine, and allow it to cool before storing.
■
Clean all foreign material from the product.
■
Store the product in a cool dry and well-ventilated
place that is inaccessible to children. Keep away from
corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-
icing salts. To reduce the fire hazard, keep storage area
free of grass, leaves or excessive grease.
■
Do not store outdoors.
FOR ASSEMBLING WITH ELECTRIC-DRIVEN POWER
HEAD
■
Stop the product, disconnect from the power supply,
and wind the cable. Allow product to cool before storing
or transporting
■
Clean all foreign material from the product. Store it in a
cool, dry, and well-ventilated place that is inaccessible
to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as
garden chemicals and de-icing salts. To reduce the
fire hazard, keep storage area free of grass, leaves or
excessive grease.
