IDENTIFYING THE SNOW BLOWER
The snow tire chains can be used on multiple-sized snow blow-
ers. Snow blowers with 16 in. wheels will require removing the
wheels before installing the snow tire chains.
NOTE: Snow blowers with 13 in. wheels do not require
removing the wheels.
REMOVING THE 16 in. WHEELS
See Figures 1 - 6.
Park the snow blower on level ground.
Remove the battery packs from the battery ports.
Place a 4x4 wood block under the 16 in. wheel to raise the
unit off the ground.
NOTE: Be careful when placing the block under the unit.
The lower housing panel is made from plastic on some units.
NOTE: Depending on the unit, either a snap clip or a locking
pin is used to hold the 16 in. wheel in place.
Removing the wheels with the snap clips:
Pry up on the metal tab of the snap clip using a flathead
screwdriver (not included) and push the snap clip off. See
Figure 2.
Pull the wheel off the axle.
OPERATOR'S

13 in. & 16 in. SNOW
TIRE CHAINS
Removing the wheels with the locking pins:
Remove the locking pin's wire lock and unwrap from the axle.
Pull the locking pin out. See Figure 3.
Pull the wheel off the axle.
Moving the cables:
The cables behind the 16 in. wheels must be moved to prevent
them from getting caught in the snow tire chains during operation.
NOTE: Depending on the unit, either a bolted-on plastic clamp
or a fir tree clip is used to hold the cables in place.
Moving the cables with the bolted-on plastic wire clamp:
Locate the plastic wire clamp with bolts that holds the cables
behind the wheel.
Use an impact driver (not included) to unscrew the bolts.
NOTE: Depending on the bolts, use either a T-25 or a 4mm
hex drill bit (neither bit is included). See Figure 4.
Unclip the cables from the lower pigtail on the support pole
above the wheel to the C-hook on the handle bars.
Pull the cables securely through the C-hook on the handle
bars.
Moving the cables with the fir tree cable clip:
Locate the fir tree cable clip that holds the cables behind
the wheel.
Unclip the cables from the lower pigtail on the support pole
above the wheel and move them to the C-hook on the handle
bars. See Figure 5.
Pull the cables securely through the C-hook on the handle
bars.
NOTE: After securing the cables, reinstall the 16 in. wheels. Place
the wheel back on the axle and secure with either a snap clip
or a locking pin. Do this before installing the snow tire chains.
NOTE: The 13 in. wheels do not have cables behind the wheels
nor do the 13 in. wheels need to be removed.
NOTICE:
Make sure the cables have been relocated and are out of
the way before installing the snow tire chains.
INSTALLING THE SNOW TIRE CHAINS
See Figures 7 - 10.
