Operation

5.8 AC/DC Voltage Measurements

Do not measure voltage if a motor on the circuit is being switched on or off. Large voltage
surges may occur that can damage the meter.
Figure 5.4 AC/DC Voltage measurement test setup.
1. Slide the input shutter switch to the up position.
2. Rotate the function switch to the V position.
3. Press the MODE button to select AC or DC Voltage.
4. Insert the black test lead plug into the negative COM jack. Insert the red
test lead plug into the positive V jack.
5. Touch the black test probe tip to the negative side of the circuit. Touch the
red test probe tip to the positive side of the circuit.
6. Read the voltage value in the display.

5.8.1 Frequency of Voltage Measurements

When measuring AC Voltage, the measured frequency is shown on the lower
area of the display.
