The engine exhaust from this product contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. 1.1 OPERATOR SAFETY WARNING!   Always perform an oil, fuel and air filter check before starting the engine.
  • Page 7 HY0343, HY0344, HY0345, HY0346, HY0348, HY0379, HY0380   Place the lawn mower at least 3 feet away from buildings or other equipment during operation.   Run the lawn mower on a level surface. Tilting the lawn mower may result in fuel spills.
  • Page 8 HYUNDAI   Stop the blade(s) if the lawn mower has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when transporting the lawn mower to and from the area to be mowed.   NEVER operate the lawn mower with defective guards, or without safety devices, for example deflectors and/or grass catchers, in place.

If so, place washers on axles before assembling wheels. Slide larger wheels onto rear axles and secure with one nut each.
  • Page 20 HYUNDAI 3.3 ADJUSTING THE HANDLE Adjust Handle Height (HY0346, HY0348, HY0380 only) High Middle Turn the spring knob 90-degrees either direction to unlock. Choose a higher or lower bracket hole to set your handle height preference. Then turn the spring knob back 90-degrees until the silver bolt goes through that bracket hole.

Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped. DO NOT smoke or allow open flames or sparks in the area where the lawn mower is being refueled or where gasoline is stored.

NOTE   Only use unleaded gasoline (Pump Octane 87 or higher).   NEVER use stale or contaminated gasoline, or an oil/gasoline mixture.   Avoid getting dirt or water into the fuel tank.   DO NOT use a mixture of gasoline containing methanol. This will cause serious damage to the engine.

    HYUNDAI 4.2 CHECK THE FUEL LEVEL WARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped. DO NOT smoke or allow open flames or sparks in the area where the lawn mower is being refueled or where gasoline is stored.

    HYUNDAI 5. STARTING THE ENGINE DANGER! Using a lawn mower indoors WILL KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas you cannot see or smell. If you can smell the engine exhaust you are breathing CO. Even if you cannot smell the exhaust, you could be breathing CO.

    HY0343, HY0344, HY0345, HY0346, HY0348, HY0379, HY0380 5.1 MANUAL RECOIL START WARNING! Ensure the lawn mower’s blade is securely fastened before starting the engine. The blade will begin to rotate as soon as the engine is started. In cold weather ONLY, push the primer bulb 1-2 times.

CLEAN FLOODED ENGINE Rear Discharge If the engine won’t start after you have operated the start procedure several times, Cover Rear Discharge the engine may be flooded with excess fuel. Use following steps to clear and start a Cover flooded engine.

    HYUNDAI NOTE   Install the spark plug carefully by hand, to avoid cross-threading.After the plug is seated tighten 1/8 to 1/4 turn with socket spanner of spark plug to compress the washer.     HYUNDAI 7.4 EMPTYING THE GRASS BAG (HY0344, HY0345, HY0346, HY0348, HY0380 ONLY) WARNING! Before taking off the grass bag, turn off the engine and wait until the blade has come to a stop. If any grass residue is caught in the discharge chute, clean it using a brush.

    HYUNDAI 8.3 CLEANING THE AIR-FILTER WARNING! Using gasoline or other flammable solvents can cause fire or explosion. DO NOT operate this product without an air filter. DO NOT use pressurized air or solvents to clean the filter. Pressurized air can damage the filter and solvents will dissolve the filter.
