    HYUNDAI 1. SAFETY WARNING! Make sure that you are familiar with the controls and properly operate the machine. You must learn how to stop the machine quickly. This machine produces an electromagnetic field during operation. This field may under some circumstances interfere with active or passive medical implants.

    HY0390   NEVER operate the machine without the defensive guards or shields.   NEVER lock or otherwise prevent safety switches, kill switches, or release levers from operating properly.   Do not touch parts that might be hot from operation. Allow parts to cool before attempting to maintain, adjust, or service.

When someone approaches, turn the tool OFF immediately. WARNING! Always wear breathing protection. Bystanders should be encouraged to wear breathing protection devices even if they are kept at a distance as hazardous dust can travel considerable distances, especially if the dust is windblown.

    HY0390 1.7 VIBRATION SAFETY Prolonged use of handheld (operated) machines will cause the user to feel the effects of/from vibrations. These vibrations can lead to white finger (Raynaud’s phenomenon) or carpal tunnel syndrome. This condition reduces the ability of the hand to feel and regulate temperature, causing numbness and heat sensations and may cause nerve damage and circulatory tissue death.

    HY0390 3. BEFORE FIRST USE Double-check the lawnmower and package contents. NOTE   There is a risk of damaging the lawnmower if the package is opened carelessly—do not use sharp objects when opening the package. Follow these steps upon first inspection: Carefully remove the lawnmower from its packaging on an even-level surface.

    HYUNDAI 3.1 LAWNMOWER ASSEMBLY NOTE   Improper handling of the lawnmower and its parts can cause significant injury and damage. Always read and comply with the safety instructions outlined in the Before First Use chapter of this manual. Follow these steps to safely assemble the lawnmower: Unfold the lower handlebar.

    HY0390 3.2 HANDLE STORAGE When transporting or storing the lawnmower, the handle can be folded to save space. NOTE   Do not fold the handle backwards, doing so may snap the cable. Fold slowly and carefully to avoid cable troubles.

Always read and comply with the safety instructions outlined in the Before First Use chapter of this manual. 4.1 ADJUSTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT Follow these steps to safely adjust the cutting height: Ensure the safety key is removed.

    HY0390 To switch the lawnmower off: Release the safety bar to return it to its normal position. The motor will stop and the blades will cease rotating. Wait until all rotating parts come to a complete standstill. 4.3 USING THE GRASS COLLECTOR Follow these steps to properly handle the grass collection bag: Ensure the safety key is removed.

    HYUNDAI mowed grass spreads directly back onto the lawn via the grass discharge chute. In this case, do not open the safety flap during operation. 4.5 USING THE MULCH KIT The mulch insert prevents the grass from discharging to the rear by blocking the collection chute.

Turn OFF the machine, allow all moving parts to come to a complete stop, and disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance. You must wear proper clothing and protective gloves whenever your hands are at risk.
