ICE-MAKING SYSTEM CLEANING

Minerals that are removed from water during the
freezing cycle will eventually form a hard scaly
deposit in the water system. Cleaning the system
regularly helps remove the mineral scale buildup.
How often you need to clean the system depends
upon how hard your water is or how effective your
filtration may be. We suggest you may need to clean
the system at least every 6 months.
When you touch the evaporator (ice maker) with
your fingers and there is a gritty feeling, you should
clean the evaporator (ice maker) immediately until
the surface of the evaporator (ice maker) is smooth
again.
Please make sure the ice maker is in standby mode
before touching any parts involved in the making of
ice.
NOTE: Use one 56.8 oz (1.68 L) bottle of 1:15 citric
acid solution or approved limescale cleanser.
1. Make sure there is no ice on the evaporator. If ice
is being made, wait for cycle completion, then press
the
button to enter standby mode. Remove all
ice from the storage bin.
2. Turn off the water line to the ice maker. (see
below figure)
3. On the inner back wall of the appliance there is
a rubber tube connected to the interior water tank.
Gently unhook the tube and lower it toward the
drain port at the back of the ice maker cabinet to
allow the water inside the appliance to drain. (see
below figure).
