Preface

This manual is the introduction of the KJ25 body camera which includes its functions, features, external structure, operation, and caution items. Before using the product, please read the user manual carefully and please keep it near for easy reference.

Basic Operation

Power Button
Long press the button to boot. After the camera is powered on, short press the button to turn the screen off/on to light off the screen, or long press to power off the camera.
Video Button/ Night Vision Key
  1. After turning on the camera, short press the button to record video file, press it again to stop recording, and save the video file. In power-off state, long pressing the button can boot the camera and start video recording.
  2. In standby mode, long press to turn on the night vision function, long press it again to turn off the night vision function. In this state, video recording, and photo taking functions can be performed.
Audio Button/ White Light Button
  1. After powering on the camera, short press the button to record a piece of audio, press it again to stop audio recording, and save the audio file. In power-off state, long pressing the button can boot the camera and start audio recording.
  2. In standby mode, long press to turn on the white light. In this state, video recording, and photo taking functions can be performed. Long press again to turn off the white light.
Photo Button/ Red Laser Button
  1. After powering on the camera short press the button to take photos. Every press will take one photo.
  2. Long press to turn on the red leser. In this state, video recording and photo taking can be performed. Long press again to turn off the red leser.
Siren Button
Long press to flash blue-red light with alarm sound, short press it again to turn off the sound, short press it a third time to turn off the light.
Resolution Switch Button
Before recording video, short press to select video resolution.
The video resolution is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen, and the estimated remain recording time at that resolution is displayed in the lower right corner.
Menu Button
Setting interface, press the up/down keys to select the option to be modified and short press Menu button again to confirm, and press the return key to return to the preview screen/standby mode.
UP/ Mark Button
  1. On the settings menu or playback page, short press the button to move the selection up.
  2. In video recording mode, click it to mark the file (the marked video cannot be deleted on the camera itself). When the recording state is not over, click it again to unmark the video. Then short press the video button to save this marked video.
Down / Playback Button
  1. On the settings menu or playback page, short press the button to move the selection down.
  2. In standby mode, short press the button to view video playback, click the up or down keys to select video, photo or audio.
Confirm Button
Short press the button to confirm or enter the current option.
Return Key
In menu settings, short press the return key to return to the previous level.

Reset

Reset

When the device crashes or stops working due to improper operation or other special reasons, please press the button to reset the camera.

Then long press the power button to restart the camera.

If you need to change the initial settings, please short press the "menu key" in standby mode to enter, press the "up key/down key" to find the item that needs to be changed, and press the "confirm key" to enter to modify options.

Resolution There are five recording resolution options: "1440P30, 1296P30, 1080P30 (default setting), 720p30, and 480P30". The higher the resolution, the larger the video file.
Photo Size There are five options for photo size: "8M, 14M, 26M, 34M, 40M (default setting)".
Sequence There are four options: "Off (default setting), 3, 5, and 10".
Pre-Record Pre-record has two options: "on, off (default setting)". Merge the first 10 seconds of the recording into the recorded video, you need to press the video button twice to save this pre-record.
Post-Record Post-record has five options: "off (default setting), 5sec, 30sec, 1min, 5min". After pressing the video button to stop the video, set the video countdown for a certain time and save.
Compression Storage Compression Storage has two options: "on, off (default setting)". Compress the video quality to save more storage, and the video quality will also be reduced.
In the normal recording, suggest to turn it Off.
Cyclic Record Cyclic Record has two options: "on (default setting), off". When on, once the camera storage is insufficient, the camera will auto cover the old video files for further recording.
Video Length Video Length has six options: "3min, 5min, 10min (default), 15min, 20min, 30min" Video recording is saved as video clips/fragments, this avoids the large file from being damaged.
Motion Detection Motion Detection has two options: "on, off (default setting)".
LCD Display LCD Display has six options: "Off, 30sec, 1min, 2min, 5min (default), 10min". Without any operation, the camera screen will autooff, press any key to light up again.
Auto Power Off Auto Power Off has five options: "Off, 3min, 5min, 10min, 15 min (default)". Without any operation, the camera will auto shut off, long press the power button to power on camera.
Key Tone The key tone has two options: "on (default setting) and off ". Button sound and powering on&off sound
Exposure Exposure has five options: "+3, +2, +1, 0 (default), -1"
Video Sound Video Sound has two options: "on (default setting) and off". Video recording with sound, if turn off, recorded video will have no audio.
Device Volume The Device volume setting has four options: "off, low, medium, high (default setting)".
Car Dash Cam Mode Car Dash Cam Mode has two options: "on, off (default setting)". When on, the camera will auto-record once placed into power/vehicle engine start mode.
Password Password has two options: "on, off (default setting)". Before entering, you need to enter a password to set up. If password is on, user needs to enter password to get access to change new password, delete recorded data on playback files page, and connect to the computer.
Change Password Under this option, you can change the password for your device. Before changing, you need to enter the original password to set it up.
Select Mode After turning on the "Stealth Mode", there will be no sound or light prompts for shooting and recording. The night vision mode can be used normally, but the LED white light and red laser are disabled.
IR Filter There are two options for infrared switching: "manual (default setting) and automatic". When set to manual, short press the Night Vision Key to turn on the four infrared lights. Set the automatic option, the camera can be switched to the night vision mode according to the brightness of the environment.
Device ID You can set your own device ID.
Police ID You can set your own police ID.
Language There are three language options: "Simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English (default setting)".
Human Speaker There are two options for Human Speaker: "on, off (default setting)". Sound when shooting and recording starts.
Date/Time Set to your local date and time
Format Formatting the SD card will delete all files in the storage memory.
Default Setting Option to restore device default settings.
Date Stamp There are two options for Date Stamp: "on (default setting), off". Date Stamp of Recorded Files.

Troubleshooting

Q: The camera doesn't power on or stop working.

A:

  1. Connect the charger and USB cable to charge the camera and check whether the problem is solved after 6 hours of charging;
  2. Please check whether the charger and the USB cable are operating correctly.
  3. Connect your device to the wall socket, then press the power button to check whether it could be powered on.
  4. Use a pin to do a reset of the camera and re-power on to check again.
  5. If the problem cannot be solved, please contact customer service for further help

Q: Why does the camera stop recording? Can't record video anymore?

A:

  1. Make sure the camera storage capacity is large enough to record. Turn on "Loop Recording" to let the camera record continuously by covering the old files once the memory is full.
  2. Physical Double check: Check whether the Video Button is intact and could be pressed down normally.
  3. Format the camera and do a hard reset then record again.
  4. If the problem cannot be solved, please contact customer service for further help.

Q: A video or audio file cannot be played? Or no sound for videos?

A:

  1. Please check the menu and turn on the "Video Sound" option.
  2. It is recommended to play back videos/audio on the VLC media player on the computer.

Q: The camera display is showing red/green.

A:

  1. Please turn on and off the night vision through IR button to check again.
  2. Please reset the camera and power it on to check.

Q: Why does the camera screen turn off automatically?

A: The camera enters the "LCD Display" mode in default without 5 minutes of operation. If you want the display to always be on, please enter the menu to set the "LCD Display" option to Off.

"LCD Display" option can be set to Off, 30sec, 1min, 2min, 5min (default), 10min.

Q: Why does the camera shut off automatically?

A: Please check whether the "Auto Power Off" option in the menu is On. If you want the camera to stay power-on state, please enter the menu to set "Auto Power Off" to Off.

"Auto Power Off" can be set to Off, 3min, 5min, 10min, 15 min (default).
