Microphones
can be connected
to the sockets ©, see
'MICRO-
PHONES'.
When connecting only one microphone, the microphone signal will be
reproduced through one channel only (or recorded on one track only).
PHONES 6 for stereo headphones
Stereo headphones having an impedance of 4-2 000 Ohms can be
connected to the PHONES socket @3, see HEADPHONES'.
FM ANTENNA input socket
(Not on type D 8734/02)
The FM ANTENNA socket @9 is for connection of:
- aexternal roof-mounted FM aerial having an impedance of 75 ohms
- the Community Antenna System, impedance 75 ohms

PHONO @) for record player
For connection
of a HiFi record player provided with a magneto-
dynamic ('MD') pick-up cartridge, the set is provided with a built-in
pre-amplifier.
e@ Connect the record player to the PHONO sockets @.
@ Connect the ground wire of the record player to the GROUND
terminal @.
AUX @ input sockets
The AUX input sockets @ serve for amplifying or recording the signals
from an amplifier, receiver, radio, tuner, 2°¢ recorder.
e@ Connect the AUX sockets @3 of the radio recorder to the tape
recorder output sockets TAPE OUT or REC OUT of e.g. the amplifier.
LINE OUT @ output sockets
The LINE OUT output sockets @ serve for reproduction of the signals
from the radio recorder through a separate amplifier, receiver, radio,
2nd recorder etc.
@ Connect the LINE OUT sockets @4 of the radio recorder to the tape
recorder input sockets TAPE IN or REC IN of e.g. the amplifier.
Connection to a HiFi system
Via the AUX @3) and LINE OUT @ sockets, the radio recorder can be
connected to a HiFi-system (amplifier, receiver or HiFi-combination) or
toa 2"4 recorder. For this, use a connecting cable with four phono-type
'cinch'-plugs at each end, e.g. type SBC 045 (4822 321 20381, length
120 cm) or SBC 046 (4822 321 20382, length 250 cm).
LOUDSPEAKERS @ for loudspeaker boxes
The delivered loudspeaker boxes (or other loudspeaker boxes, having
an impedance
of 4-8 Ohms) can be connected
to the sockets
LOUDSPEAKERS.
If desired, take off the delivered loudspeaker boxes by slightly lifting
them.
The points of suspension
on both sides of the set can be
removed by turning them loose.
Reproduction possibilities
Radio
reception,
cassette
playback
and
external
sound
sources
can
be
reproduced:
@ Through loudspeaker boxes connected to the LOUDSPEAKERS sockets @.
e@ Through headphones
connected to the PHONES
socket 63, see 'HEAD-
PHONES'. In this case, simultaneous reproduction through the power amplifier
and the loudspeakers will remain possible.
@ Through an amplifier, receiver, 2" recorder etc., connected to the LINE OUT
sockets @. in this case, simultaneous reproduction through the power amplifier
and the loudspeakers and/or through headphones will remain possible.
