Network Verification Testing
Perform verification testing after any installation. Refer to the Network Verification
Testing section of the User's Guide for more information.
After confirming the network connection for a DSU equipped with a DBM:

Procedure
1. Use the
Dial command to establish a dialed call to the remote unit in order to:
— Enter remote phone numbers in dial backup directory for both ends.
— Verify the DBM can establish a call.
The DBM will be in Standby mode.
2. Verify that Auto Answer (AutoAnswer) is enabled and that the other end answers.
3. Use the
Dial command to switch the data to the DBM circuit by entering Dial
Backup mode. Ensure that both DSUs have been configured correctly.
4. Perform a Digital Test (DT) on both the DBM and the circuit from the Test branch.
After testing the network:
1. Drop the backup (DrBU).
2. To automatically initiate a call if there is a DDS network failure, enable Auto Backup
(AutoBckup) and the Backup Directory numbers.
3. Enable V.13 Signaling (V.13 Signl) for switched-carrier operation emulation. This
applies to a multipoint circuit.
