Powering Up the DBM
When you apply power to the DSU, the DSU performs a power-up routine and:
H
Determines what hardware options are installed, including a DBM.
H
Automatically runs a Device Test (Devic) on the DSU and each installed hardware
option.
H
Displays the following messages on the Diagnostic Control Panel (DCP):
DSU DBM
Pass Pass
F1
The power-up routine can be:
H
Initiated using the Reset selection in the Control branch.
H
Disabled with the PowerOnTst General configuration option.
The front panel's:
H
Red Alarm LED is lit if the DBM is a digital DBM and not connected to the network.
H
LCD displays health and status information with DBM F:No Signal to indicate a
facility alarm.
Continue if you receive successful messages. If a Fail message appears or a hardware
option does not appear:
H
Refer to your User's Guide for power-up messages and basic procedures for
changing configuration options and troubleshooting.
H
Refer to your DBM Supplement for DBM troubleshooting and messages.
NOTE:
For a 4-wire Switched 56 DBM, if power is applied and a Device Test run while a
network loopback is in progress, the test is aborted and the LCD displays Abrt.
Rerun the Device Test.
