Predator SS and Predator XS TRANCELL TS-500 Scale Reset and Troubleshooting Guide When trying to determine if there is a problem with the either the load cells or the summing board, the first thing that should be attempted is to try and reset the scale to the factory settings.

Testing Load Cells If resetting the scale to its factory state does not solve the problem, then there may be a problem with one or more of the load cells. For each load cell to function properly, each cell must be powered and have at least 10V on the excitation circuit (see data sheet below).
Page 7
Furthermore, the maximum signal or output voltage should be no more than 3V. Nominally the load cell should put out a voltage of somewhere between 0-3V when a load is present on the scale. You can test the voltage of both the output and excitation circuits at the summing board.

Erroneous Readings and Noise Sometimes there can be noise in the signal from the summing board to the display. This can cause the display to show erroneous readings. To reduce the chance of this happening, it is good practice to make sure that the exposed wire at the end the data cable between the summing board and the display is well shielded.
